Just pull it upwards - there's around 4 thick rubber grommet-type fasteners that hold it in place. I remove it regularly to clean my engine.

Are there no screws or nuts needed to be remove here? ANy technique or pics showing where to hold or pull that plastic will be appreciated... baka kasi may mabali pag mali ang paghila....

I've inquired TMi and they note that not all 2005 release model are included in the recall. Mine was bought April 2005, and fortunately was not included in the master list. (baka may second batch pa!).

I bought mine February 2005. I requested the dealer to check if mine is included. No reply yet. I hope it's not included.

i share the same concern with Innova Boy. The other day i was actually trying to pull it up kaya lang par akong kinikilabutan e. Ibig sabihin parang may masamang manyayari . Thanks jaeger pero pano mo exactly gingawa? salamat po ulit.

Hatak pataas lang but hold it in the corners (on top you'll see pimple like buttons, there they go) kasi andun yung mga neoprene snap ins. be gentle pulling & support it by your other hand he he he ...... but......if you will only have the chance to see those tech crews sa kasa, pag tinatanggal nila yan e parang wala lang bunot dito bunot doon. well sila kabisado na nila pull pressure tayo hindi. ingat lang. see below hope this helps. better have it pulled while the engine is a lil bit warm. pix taken from kasa before engine wash.

Just use a little bit of force to unplug the fasteners. HTH

Mine was bought also in April 2005. Initial response, 'di raw kasama. But, they will verify again. Coz aside from axle shaft, dinagdag ko kasi yung fuel tank straps plus yung missing right side mudguard cover. Tatawag daw sa bahay 'pag verified na.

for the innova recall issue, seems it would be better to post our frame numbers. just to verify from those who officially received recall letter from TMI ( could you spare us your frame numbers so we can have it double check here)
mine is KUN40-5001881 released April 22, 2005

Btw, I have a friend who is interested to buy brand new Innova J variant diesel. His dealer is offering addtl 20k discount for old 2006 model but not "spec up daw" vs that of new 06 innova J diesel spec up. Maybe someone can help me explaining to my friend whats the difference between the two? Salamat po!

Toyota has a promo this month wherein any buyer of Innova (any variant) is automatically entitled to a discount of Php 40,000.00 off the SRP.

I'm not sure if there is any significant difference bet. the "old" '06 J and the "spec-up" '06 J. For the higher variants starting with the E, Toyota placed a slightly revised front grille, in addition, the G and V gets a wheel well cover for the foglamps.

guys, just want to ask if anybody experienced this:
Biglang namatay at the middle of the road yong unit namin. Prior to that, everytime I'd shift to the third gear, me lag na mga 1 sec...parang nabibilaukan. Shox, I got scared coz baka di na mag-start ulit. Buti na lang umandar nga ulit.

Also, the last time we took the unit to the casa, they adjusted the idling. But after about 3 wks, the prob recurred lang..yong namamatay pag pina-start..that you have to step on the accelarator just to prevent the engine from shutting down again. Ang gastos sa gas tuloy.

Back to the orig. concern, I decided to take the unit to Toyota Marikina. The guy told me that it's about the fuel filter--marumi na raw. So I'm scheduled for a replacement for tom. Kaso, I informed him about the my other prob, yong namamatay nga pag pina-start. He said, they have to reset the comp raw. One more prob pa pala, hirap sa uphill yong oto. Some of you may be familiar with the shortcut from Marikina to QC via Tumana. There's a very steep & sharp curve there...everytime I'd reach that point, nanginginig yong car & parang mamamatay rin. Sheez, I've never experienced that with the other cars I've driven before. Ito lang Innova talaga yong parang hindi safe iliko ron. Now, I'm beginning to lose confidence in this unit. Kakatakot coz I'm always with my kids. Hindi kaya lemon yong unit namin? I asked the guy in the casa about the axle recall, he informed me that they sent out letters na raw. Pero, syempre, with my experience, duda tuloy ako both sa kanila & sa unit.
