I'm considering to buy the Forester 2.0x and I was hoping for a good deal. Sabi nung SA wala daw discount sa Forester. Is it true na wala talagang discount sa Motor Image, kahit konti man lang....

Madalas, wala. Bakit ka nga naman magdi discount kung mas madaming order kesa sa stock. Pero not all the time wala. Kaya huwag basta mag assume ... wala namang mawawala kung magtatanong di ba?

I don't suggest an alarm. Una, di gaano nakawin ang subaru dahil konti lang at walang gaanong piyesa sa labas. Pangalawa, may immobilizer naman siya so safe ang car ... just dont leave expensive stuff inside.

IMHO, the 2.0X with bolt-on mods is more than enough for mostly city driving. Then again, if you had the FXT, you'd be very tempted to go out of town more ...

I test drove the Forester 2.0x this morning and found the drive appealing. I'm seriously considering buying one. I have some thoughts:

1.) When I asked the sales consultant about possible promos/discounts, he said they only gives free tint and LTO registration for those availing of in-house financing. I find it rather strange that there's no incentives given to cash buyers (di biro ang mag-ipon ng P1.358 million noh!). At wala na pala sa 2.0x ang power seats for the driver (it was only available in the first batches). Medyo nakakahiyang lang.

2.) What would be a good color to choose (white is most popular daw, followed by silver and grey)? Totoo bang kulay pula ay para sa matatanda? hehehe

3.) I learned some 2.0x buyers had their side mirror housing and door handles painted body color. Is this a wise thing to do (especially sa door handles)?

2. Marami talaga kumukuha ng white. Sa Subaru Club dami naka white. Pero madami din yung naka Spark Silver Metallic at Dark Grey Metallic. Ala pa akong nakita na red sa members and on the road. Sa Subaru Club, dalawa pa lang ang naka red na Impreza, AFAIK. But, nasa sa iyo yun talaga what color you want. I opted for the Dark Grey Metallic for my Impreza, sabi ko siguro konti may gusto nun... dami pala namin na ganun, kahit WRX may naka DGM.

3. Personal preference na yan. If you think yun ang mas appealing sa iyo, go for it.

1. Si Alex Diasen. Forester daw kasi pinakamabentang model nila now kaya sabi ng management no discounts. Free tint and LTO only if you pay thru in-house financing. Free ang matting kasi standard naman ito kahit saan.

2. Ah... maybe you got the freebies kasi you got the Impreza.

3. Sabi ni Alex meron daw nagpapintura sa kanila ng 2.0x door handles na bumalik sa casa dahil na chip off daw ang paint due to slippery material ng door handle. Talaga bang nangyayari ito?

I am seriously thinking of buying a Forester 2.0. Kamusta naman ang aircon? Maayos naman ba? Also, I have read some blogs/reviews that the audio system is not good. Is this true? I read in another thread that the Forester 2.0 is sluggish compared to the 2.0 CRV when in comes to city driving. Any insights on this? I appreciate the feedback.

If they did not prep the surface before painting, ganun talaga result. Better to leave it as it is, but if you insist, MI is not the best place to have it painted.

I test drove the 2.0L new CR-V. I'm not impressed, as an owner of the 1st Gen '98 CR-V. The car lacks feedback, due to the drive-by-wire technology. The Electronic Power Steering seems to have a mind of its own. Throttle response is poor. In these areas, the 2009 Tucson is even better.

You have to test drive both so you'll find out.

The airconditioning is auto climate control, with individual bypass (manual mode) on each of the three controllers (fan, vent, temperature). It has an automatic override when you hataw the car. Remember also that it has a speed limiter, nasa 180kph ata, but the 2.0L engine can go beyond 200kph.

The audio system is passable, 6-CD changer with aux input, 6 physical speakers with 10 drivers. In CD and MP3 mode, I'm pleased with it, but definitely will not sound like my $6,000 turntable in anyway. In radio mode, it's ngongo, so if that's what people heard, they'll say panget.

the audio system is so-so, walang USB port. the aircon is, well what do you expect from a technology with planned obsolescence. At 28K km, bumigay na aircon filter ko so i had to shell out 3,200 pesos for an aircon filter (this is one bloody expensive aircon filter), hahaha! this is lifestyle, hinanap ko naman to, eh.

Subaru recommends replacing the a/c filter every 10,000 miles, which is 16K+ kilometers. Good for you naka 28K ka, nasulit mo na. :D
