Try manual mode then you'll really feel the difference. Though there are a lot of powerful cars today on the road, nobody will want to challenge you when they see you out accelerate them just from the stop light!"
-- No. Ayaw ko pa i-try yun sportshift kasi hindi pa break-in eh. Tsaka the darn buses can tell my ride's new and they keep edging me out (siyempre I give way. haha)!
Keep the power button off to save gas and to let it shift through all the available gears. Anything that can produce that kind of power will consume a lot of gas.
-- eh? I just asked their tech guys and they said to keep the power button ON in order to have 4th gear, thereby saving gas?

It's more of like a whine than whistle..woooossshhh"
-- Ach. Wouldn't the wind noise make it harder to hear at speed though? hehe. At least I know what to listen out for. Baka nga it gets louder as it gets more broken in -- wala pa nga me sa 100 eh.
"congratulations on the purchase and welcome to the crew..so i guess there's a new "good looking" FXT owner?"
-- Absolutely. At least the stares I get from onlookers, passers-by and even drivers headed in the opposite direction make me feel like it. hehe. Wala kasi masyado Subaru sa amin kasi nasa province kami eh, lalo na FXT. Everyone must be wondering what the heck my car is. hahaha. A clerk at Shangrila EDSA knew, though. pagpasok pa lang ng bags sabi niya, "nice ride, sir'. hehe.

kelangan mo ito if you want to hear a whistle sa loob ng FXT...
...kase, whatever noise the turbo makes, it's hardly discernable. tsaka the boost does not kick in until around 3K RPM, and you'll know it when it does...but take it easy for now, until the break-in period is over. be forwarned though, it'll be difficult restraining yourself from unleashing the beast, so good luck.
personally, i'd rather listen to the burble of the boxer engine.
congrats nga pala sa purchase ng FXT.

June 20th, 2007 06:33 PM #154So what's the deal on the power button? Is it an OD button (like I suspect) which allows 4th gear to be turned on? Or does it just change shifting RPMs higher (according to the subaru forums website)?

You mean they have a crappier tranny there? Darn.

pup2, try clearing this up with the guy you spoke with. Logic dictates like any other automatic, the power button keeps the revs longer ergo it uses more gas!
have you tried spraying peppermint?
