    to answer your questions:
    1) yes, compared to the XT it is very underpowered kasi naman XT has the wrx engine in it so it is fast. compared to a tucson, don't know how much difference there is since i haven't driven a tucson yet. pero compared to regular cars we see in our roads daily, hindi naman siya under powered. and my car before the 2.0x is an 05 STi, and driven lots of fast cars, so i can say that it is not underpowered compared to regular cars on the road we meet daily.

    2) 5-8km regular FC of the 2.0x, that's because of the awd so that's one of the downsides besides being underpowered.

    3) subaru only makes one of the best AWD system there is, only audi can match up to it's AWD system. search for subaru awd on youtube and you'll see how good the AWD system of the subaru is. you'll even see an STi pulling a 40footer truck out of an icy road.

    4) parts are a bit more expensive compared to other japanese cars, but not that much.

    5) all subaru's are equipped with HID.

    6) what do i love most in my 2.0x, it feels like i'm driving a car not a CUV. also even though it is "unerpowered" it makes up for the handling, handling is very great especially in the twisties and very very stable at 190kmh.

if you can get the XT i suggest you do, the difference in performance is just to big. when it comes to performance no asian CUV/SUV can compete with the XT. the combination of handling and power of the XT is just truly amazing, plus the potential of the XT's engine is also amazing. can you believe that with just a full exhaust, cia, and ecu tune the XT will be as fast as the STi.
Foresterx, thanks for the valuable feedback. I now plan to drop by MI and check out the new Forester 2.0. Hopefully a test drive is possible. If not, i'll have it scheduled. No real way of knowing until I get behind the wheel.

Mas ok daw yung 2.5. If budget is not a problem, I would suggest try it.

you're more than welcome! hey if you get a subaru, you'll notice that a lot of other subaru owners will honk at you, wave at you or flash their lights like they know you, that's how friendly the subaru community is. i'm sure you can test drive it, i think STi lang ang hindi nila pinapa test drive. and just like imperial said if you can afford or wait to save more money so you can afford the XT then i suggest you do. the difference in performance is just to big, but if you're not looking into performance then the 2.0x is just right for you since it has the same features as the XT.

The power really is impressive and knowing when to use the Sport and Manual modes really help. Personally I leave it on sport all the time and downshift manually accelerating out of turns or when im at a standstill. Wonderful feeling. The transmission automatically shifts up for me at the redline so that is a plus (unlike my CX-9 which bumps of the rev limiter and it feels disconcerting). Yes the Tucson diesel is a great Crossover and a fine (and equal) choice in my opinion. Its really a choice between fuel economy and the good power of the Tucson Diesel vs the not-so-great fuel economy and outright power of the Subaru. In terms of toys they are equal. Transmission obviously gotta hand it to the tucson.

Anyway, I used to have Tucson envy but not anymore. Im lucky to have enough weapons of choice and for what I need my Forester for (driving enjoyment, some utility and soft roading capability, NOT a daily driver) it really ticks all the check boxes. My forester turbo really is a hoot to drive.
*eqaddict... not a daily driver??? not advisable ba?

    Here is my new ride

The fxt just consumes too much gas for my daily commute. Of course if you live near where you work, then it shouldn't be a problem. Guess that's the only downside. I spend 3 hours a day in traffic and can't really unleash the potential of the fxt. Makes no sense for me to spend p500 on gas each day just to be stuck in traffic. But when it's a weekend or when the road opens up, no question, the fxt will be my choice. If gas is not a concern, then I guess the fxt fits the bill.

I was asking in another thread when slex will connect with the star tollway. When that happens will load my dive gear and enjoy the drive to anilao in this car.
Same sentiments.. I still like using my hyundai getz.. Pang harabas talaga.. Btw, are you a member of the subaru club? whats your handle name?

Forgot to mention... Would there be a big advantage if we join the club?

Isn't it that the 3rd Generation Forester just came out 2008?

The vehicles that MIP brings in are NOT USDM variants, so if you were referring to the US 2011 Forester news about a new engine, it's not what we have.

Here's the current Forester line-up from Subaru Global. These are the specs of MIP.

I agree with arnoldc.. I talked to my SA, MI will not be releasing a new engine forester since we have the EUDM.

Mga gurus - need your expert advice.

Thinking of getting a Forester turbo but read somewhere that it only accepts Premium fuel. Is that V-Power, Blaze or XCS, Gold, Super Unleaded pwede na rin? The US Forester requires 91 octane. Doesn't the Super Unleaded here rate at 93? Or am I getting this all mixed up? My concern stems from the fact that not all provincial gasoline stations carry V-Power and Blaze.

    Thanks for the advice.

95 RON recommended. 91 AKI in the states is equivalent to our 95. baka kasi kumatok engine pag lower
