haha..I agree..Forester is not that exclusive anymore..Lot's of 2.0 variant on the road..the people are starting to learn value and performance..not just the brand.

hmm..I'm also impressed with forester in and out..only draw backs are maintenance and spare parts availability, no diesel variants, no manual transmission and quite expensive at 1.35M for a 2.0L displacement..

I'd rather have a CRV for now if ever I decide to get another car loan for a compact, gasoline-fed SUV..a 4X4 variant sips too much fuel IMO..

About the fuel consumption, you'll be surprised. The fuel consumption of the Forester and the CR-V are about the same most of the time, except for highway driving... The CR-V will probably be the easier one to get double-digit consumption figures with. (but IMHO, the Forester will prob'ly feel more stable at those speeds... AWD man ) City driving will really give you 6-8 kpl whatever CUV it may be. The Rav-4, if I understand it right from my relatives, gives the worst now.... like as low as 5.

Have you checked the Honda forums? The old CR-V used to give 4-5 kpl within the city..... not sure about the new one.

I have a 2009 2.0 Forester and it will soon be up for PMS. I was planning on buying the oil myself. What would be an inexpensive yet very good motor oil? Can you give me several suggestions. What brand and type? Also, how many liters are needed?

I was checking your fuel economy ratings. I am surprised min is not as good, 18.2 l/100km. This is pure city driving though - Fort to Makati.

As you can see, I'm not that good with cars so please bear with me.

Thanks for the reply......kaya lang mukhang matagal pa yun kasi pang Sept allocation pa daw kami. According to SA mag iincrease sila ng price by Sept, good thing naka pag pareserve na kami kaya sabi nya naka "price protect" na daw kami.

I know. But I guess we can't compare ours. I just use it for my daily commute to work and its just from Fort to Makati. Since traffic is typically bad at that time, it's basically stop and go. Was wondering of the others also have the same for similar driving conditions.

I joined there but I think everyone there is concerned about racing. I just want reasonably priced oil which will protect my engine and make it fuel efficient.

I'm strongly considering the Subaru Forester, but I am unsure about parts availability. How much expensive are Subaru's parts over Honda's and Toyota's? Can you buy spare parts from Banawe?
