The highly infectious Omicron variant has replaced Delta as the dominant coronavirus variant in the latest genome sequencing, according to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

During President Rodrigo Duterte's taped briefing aired late Monday night, Duque said the latest genome sequencing run showed at least 60% of the samples turned out positive for Omicron.

because there is some truth to that though it’s hard to accept. We all know, compared to the other variants, how contagious Omicron is & how less virulent it is. Our immune system also needs to be challenged with exposure to a “live virus”. Yung vax types natin ngayon are killed, mRNA & viral vector vax pero wala pang Modified Live or Attenuated (weakened) ones. Omicron is like that. He is just interpreting it as such but, I don’t look at it as gospel truth because there is always that unpredictable side of nature.

6657 test positive cases (44% delta, 56% omicron) were included. The 2-dose VE against omicron infection was 30.4% (95% CI, 5.0%-49.0%) at 14-90 days after vaccination and declined quickly thereafter. The 3-dose VE was 95.2% (93.4%-96.4%) against delta infection and 62.5% (56.2%-67.9%) against omicron infection.

None of the cases (delta or omicron) vaccinated with 3 doses were hospitalized compared to 53 delta and 2 omicron unvaccinated cases. Conclusions VE of 3 mRNA-1273 doses against infection with delta was high and durable, but VE against omicron infection was lower. VE against omicron infection was particularly low among immunocompromised individuals. No 3-dose recipients were hospitalized for COVID-19.

since companies are doing so many antigen tests on workers and so many are testing positive and are sent home...

they don't understand specificity -- test kit manufacturers know there are other viruses in people's noses so they make covid test kits to specifically detect SARSCOV2 only

ordinary folks don't know that
