I think for you hospital doctors, the soup is made up of much more different ingredients than what we get outside of it. & while Omicron is the dominant strain now, the common belief in the street is, it isn’t covid but just the common trangkaso or colds as these tend to occur at this time of the year with tests being made to react as Covid.

it's useless to explain to them that covid antigen tests are specific for covid (doesn't react to other viruses like influenza) kasi meron sila paniniwala

Nakakasawa ang covid but, we all know the reason why OA. Foremost reason for me is my family & super senior mother.

The business community & the medical community will never see eye to eye. Maybe compromise a bit but it will always favor the business side. Example is the use of the Ag test. Businesses will favor using it to screen employees but it is next to useless if used on an asympto. But businesses will still use it just to satisfy that criteria. So, even with its prevalent use, there are a lot of covid cases. Doctors don’t advise that, they’d rather lock everyone in to quell the spread. Hindi naman masusunod kasi babagsak na economia. They also stopped contact tracing & mandatory isolation in a Q facility. YOYO na tayo[emoji16]

i am tempted to recommend home antigen testing.
but this might give rise to other 'issues', as the layman may not be properly trained in its intricacies...

as such, any and all kits sold locally are potentially suspect vis a vis quality.
also, i am always wary of laymen when it comes to getting the appropriate sample for testing, as well as the interpretation of the test display.

Yeah, if someone sells me a kit for P10k, I would rather have an RT PCR for P5k, problem siguro it's hard to get a slot. Pero when I had covid during delta surge, I was able to get a schedule naman.

Ag test kits are still in the process of approval. I heard there are low qual & high qual. We’ll never know, would we without the proper FDA vetting. It is only useful if the symptomatic person tests + (confirmatory) cause if it test -, its suspect & should undergo the pcr test to confirm. It also shouldn’t be used for asymptos because of the likelihood of testing - or a false assumption of being negative. I heard a lot, including me, used this as a requirement for getogethers & reunions which is partially a reason for the Covid surge. “Negative ako sa Ag test, pwede na hindi mag mask”, ganun, diba[emoji16]

yes, there are good brands and there are not-good brands.
we will have to wait for what our local FDA says.

and as mentioned earlier,
interpretation and other decision-making chores can leave a lot to be desired from ordinary laymen.

True. this false sense of security may have fueled the surge. Add to that people who where fully vaccinated with booster started lowering their guards against the virus.

Yes headache and bodyache are first symptoms it is tolerable for me but for other people probably they experience it much worse.

Yes and he is preparing monulpiravir just in case. Mild symptoms for some people might be moderate for others. Mild symptoms for me is just common cough and colds but your body temperature remains normal but with this omicron your body temperature will surely go up so I would categorize omicron as moderate.

Sobrang masunurin mga tao dito, naglabas lang ng advise na dapat N95/KN95/KF94 a few days ago, pag punta ko sa mall now, majority nga ganun na suot. I'm glad I'm in a place na people follow advise. Fingers crossed, everyday lumalabas ako and all my tests are negative

You’re fully protected na ms cath for covid19 kasi you had natural immunity aside sa vax… kahit anong mask pa gamitin mo, you’ll be fine outside…

Hopefully wala ng katangahan sa wuhan lab in the coming years if totoong dahilan is nag leak yung virus from there….
