Ow, I understand sir ching. But I'm afraid I can't commit right now. It's been five years already since I last visited Baguio and what a better way to visit again than with a very capable car and with fellow Montero owners.

Planning to get a spoiler as well. Do you guys happen to know the pricing they have? Do the three, including Goldrich, have the same design of the spoiler? Pre-painted?

    --------------------------------------

Just a heads up, I just realized today that the Montero does not remind me to put on my seatbelt. I looked closely at the gauge panel and there is a provision for a seatbelt warning light. I even saw a "cruise" light for cruise control. I asked someone at the casa and she said that the Monteros really do not utilize the seatbelt warning light, even the SE, ours is a 4x2 variant. Can someone confirm?

I always use the seatbelt but I would like to know that if ever someone else in the family uses the car, at least something is there to nag him/her to use the seatbelt. I have no doubts at the ability of the Montero in protecting its passengers but anything can happen. No matter how responsible you drive, there will be others who are reckless. Just a friendly reminder, always wear a seatbelt.

[quote=ianmitsulancer;1294605]this is in response to what has been discussed at the PMS thread. i though of moving it here since it is more appropriate...

i'm taking note of the post:

the red boxes are on the copyright of the brochure on when it was made plus the indication of the ENGINE IMMOBILIZER on GLS 4x4 and GLS SE!

what is this an indication of?! that the Immobilizer is a recent add on when Mr. Harry of MMPC replied or No Immobilizer for the GLS 4x2 at all?

on the next EB, i encourage everyone to put your KEYS on the TABLE! The thick key is the one with the immobilizer due to a microchip embedded on it compared to the regular key. Do take note of the difference per variant especially owners of the GLS 4x2 A/T.

Better yet, may i ask One GLS SE owner as well as an owner of a GLS 4x2 to post a picture of their key+transmitter. We will all be the judge! Thanks.
Here's a pic of the keys of my GLS SE.. Primary key with chrome mitsubishi logo & spare/duplicate key without chrome mitsubishi logo..

Maangas talaga ang Sedona Red! (Translation: Sedona Red looks so pompous/arrogant on the streets!!!!!)

I have tried driving through zero visibility (at 8:00 p.m.) along Marcos Highway and I think HIDs will be of disadvantage for the driver as well as the incoming cars. I think HIDs as suggested by Sir Horse will create too much glare!!!! and i agree.

Zero visibility because of fogs can't totally rely on HIDs. Yes it can (6000K and below) help us see those thick cloud of smoke but not to penetrate beyond that and see the road ahead. Same thing with standard halogens (4000K below) The best way still is to negotiate it with pure caution.

hi JP, you have 6 buttons transmitter there. mine only has 4 in it also i don't have chromed mitsu logo in one of my key. but we have the same thickness. i'll post mine later.

hi sir weng. just wanna ask if the color that they gave you is really pearl white (as in match sa savannah white natin)??? i've been there last sunday and checked the spoiler.. it seems to me that the spoiler's color is just flat white with minor scratches... they even showed me two spoilers but both had scratches parin...

can you post some pics sir? thanks!

Though i understand what you mean, but pls do not say that HIDs will be at a disadvantage in the fog...
Reason: HID were first developed in europe specifically for fog and for applications with projector headlights. That's why in europe, most cars come stock with HIDs. Not because they are luxury cars but for their purpose.. snow and fog. I believe though what you both mean is that, the wrong color/temperature HIDs will give you that glaring effect from fog. But using 4300k and 3000k will definitely be what you need to get through the fog.. 6000k and up will most likely give you that glare in the fog.
So i think for those who aren't very familiar with HIDs, will think otherwise in getting if they read the comments?
Most people though use HIDs more for looks than function, that is why the preferred color/temp is 6000k or 8000k but those do not allow the user to maximize the true purpose and true functionality of HIDs. But for normal street conditions here in manila, those are acceptable because its the color most people want and its brighter than their halogen bulbs (excluding those very cheap china ones which are worse).

AFAIK, this is the type of key that has the Microchip within the black handle to be combined with the Immobilizer.

*XTO, thanks very much for sharing.
