i have this exact unit and it works fine (sometimes), the problem is the remote sometimes does not respond ( sometimes i have to clip the remote backwards so all controls are reversed (well for my head unit anyway) coz when i checked the ir eye if my head unit it is located in the upper right side of the face so i think the ir has a hard time reaching the ir eye of the HU due to the angle an distance (the remotes ir transmitter is located in the butt or lower half of the remote if i remember) some of my friends have the same problem so they put theirs in the handbreak (which totaly defeats its purpose) so if anyone want to get a remote like this, make sure it works properly and remember in mycase sometimes it works fine sometimes it doesnt ( but i think its just the location of my ir eye of my HU,parang nga this remote was made for right hand drive cars ) . by the way my remote had new batt. and when using it in a frontal or the right side of the car pointing at the HU it had no problems at all . hope this helps

Thanks for the info sir DrivenSteven,

I really don't like to add a additional steering remote as I want my setup to look stock... Btw you said that our stock remote steering will work with JVC units.. even 2 din JVC units? would you have any model in mind for a 2 din JVC unit that is at par with pioneer AVH P4150? and would a JVC unit still fit if I replace my center dash for the 2 din hu?

    cheers!

Thanks MR, actually i know where they went wrong. Im just making sure. Im quite hesitant to bring it back as they may do it the wrong way again so another issue. I was leaning on diy since i usually do detailing with my other car. Im just not use to factory paint as i know its not as thick compared to repainted vehicles.

To give a back ground, the day i went to get my car. It was flawless, except for 1 bubble. (Imagine 1 bubble hindi ko pinalampas). So they re worked on it, most likely the entire part and was advised to get it the next day. Due to my excitement i just gave qc to my car and didnt notice that it lacks shine since ang daming flood lights sa pain shop. Upon reaching home, there you got. no shine, matte finish. Its not obvious as tricky ans silver. But thats how maselan i am with things.

Any advise on what brand of rubbing compound to use? I tried 3m on my sample color key (sheet of metal painted to match my body color). It did not produce shine since its still raw. Applied scratch remover, then polished it with a known brand of wax and polish. Glazed it as a final step but couldnt get the shine to match the factory paint. Do i have to sand it down and do the same process?

Thanks XTO, advise noted. I already tried polishing as mentioned (machine buff then hand buff using Micro Fiber towel). Pero heck kulang sa shine. I get you point with silver coated cars. Tricky nga. What im not liking is that the upper portion is shiny enough (factory painted) and the lower portion is not to my liking (after market repainting by casa). So you can see the light glow difference between the two panels.

Thanks again guys appreciate the help...

P.S. I dont want to work anymore today but instead go home. Wash the car and do some detailing session until im satisfied. Haha!

Anyway here is the scenario. Lets say i had a part of my car painted (CASA pa yan ha), and inadvertently i think they forgot to do the last part of the painting process. Im not sure if its sanding or rubbing or polishing or what ever. The finish compared to the original body color is somewhat of a matte finish (hindi makintab). What can i do or who can do this for me? Im not sure if its need sanding as the surface is silky smooth except it does not compare to the gloss of the body color of the MS. Thanks in advance.

Hi Toots, are you pertaining to the "orange skin" or "balat suha" finish of the paint? Likewise, I hated seeing my black civic having that effect. I went to my suking paint shop and had it clear coated. After letting it fully dried for a month, the paint had a mirror shine, as in flawless talaga. Parang salamin eh, hehe. The brand of the clear coat that I chose was Anzahl. It cost me for about 10k. HTH.

First of all, wow! Nice mirror! I mean nice paint finish you have there. Very healthy and the paints gloss is so deep.

Hey Juan, actually im not pertaining to the orange peel finish also known as balat suha. As this is very normal for cars painted in the factory as they dont go through sanding.rubbing proses. Paint, dry then go for assembly.

Im not also saying that im okay with orange peel. As I my self am very meticulous when it comes to car paint. My concern/issue is that. The recently painted portion that i have is not glossy at all. TO make it easier compare and imagine Flat black against Jet balck. Parang ganon. I want to make flat black as shiny as the jet black panel. Im not even sure if clear coat was applied to the paint. Thanks alot Juan for the input.

Oh yes! The rewards of a successful DIY is priceless plus the fun in it.

Well I don't think that you have to sand it down again since your paint finish is just on the last step. How about the paint shade match? Silver can sometimes be tricky.

Sedona Red, GLS SE. Nakita ko sa loob ng dashboard nung October 24 dumating sa Batangas Port yung MS namin. Balak namin ibyahe this weekend kung lilihis si "Santi". Sarap siguro i-cruise sa NLEx at SCTEx yung MS.

Pleasure to meet you too buddy. I noticed several Montys there too, and I overheard an SA talking to some poor Monty owner whose unit got flooded, and needing a LOT of repairs.
