I just got myself a Montero Sport GLS SE this week, waited 2 weeks for it. I've been a reader of this thread for a while now and it helped me decide to get the Montero.

I got mine from Carworld Pampanga and it came with 20 inch wheels, which I had to pay extra. Otherwise, I would have had to wait for a month. They also said there will be a price increase in the Montero soon. Marketing ploy, probably.

Anyways, got mine already and is pretty happy about it. I'm glad to be finally able to reply on this thread.

According to some SA's. Break-in is not necessary since it was already done and tested in the factory. But just to be sure. drive smoothly and accelerate slowly. Just don't drive aggressively until 1k pms

ok po kaya i-break-in sa NLEX or SCTEX provided huwag lang lalagpas sa 100 km/hr ang speed? some say kasi it's better to do break-in pag dire-diretso ang takbo

sir mas maganda mag break-in sa mountain passes where the air breeze is cold to help the engine to cool na din at syempre madaming variant ang rpm mas ok din mag break-in sa race track just like breakin-in our motorcycles :D .... but never do break-in sa heavy traffic

yes the last part is true, but the middle part isn't.. with our ecu's being so technical and smart now, going below 100 is old school.. go above 100 when you're breaking it in.. then the ecu will acknowledge that you are a fast driver rather than a slow one. In this turn, the ecu when breaking it in will set it self for faster speeds, higher revs, etc.. in the long run, you'll be much happier... if not, most likely you'll be facing a more sluggish car as oppose to those who broke it in a more than 100kph.. but true, its better when its long scretches of road rather than stop and go type of roads. maintain 100-120kph for a while, i believe it will be much better in the long run of the car. But then again, there are many schools of thought, this is my belief, others do believe that its better below 100.. for me, its tried and tested.

I'm not exactly sure what that is, but is that like a plastic film that covers portions of the car? Or is that like paint?

Well if its just like a plastic film, there's a group that imports it, problem is i lost contact with them and i don't know them by name. All i know is that the group brings in mother's care wax. They apply a thin film on your car, but i think it's only applicable to front ends? During the show when i asked, i think a front end of a sedan costs something like 20t.. hood and bumper i think. But i may be wrong.. i think the group owns a shop in banawe somewhere. Basta i know they bring in mother's care.. Sorry can't be much more help, but at least it brings you a small, very small step closer.

i honestly do not know if its mickey's.. and it depends on the sub. depends on your taste kasi when you say 'bayo' eh.. gixxer demo'ed his during the eb last time, and it was pretty good from the back, i just wasn't in the passenger seat to know it umabot dun? best is to ask gixxer.. but given that a setup like this is mainly for SQ and not booooommmm... konti lang. hehehe

like XTO said, the box is a very very important factor to make your sub work properly and to it best potential. (not his words, but you get the point, thanx XTO).
