and besides, kennon has landslides during rainy season, although i am not sure if september will still have typhoons.... marcos is 15 minutes longer but the road is wider and more refined...

this is only my opinion by the way...
Hi sir cosmo96,

Thanks for the advice, kindly PM sir JPG111 on your suggestion, he the one incharge, i only helping him on this road trip..........

We need your confirmation first, that will be easy for us to plan.....

Regarding the planned breakfast in urdaneta, jollibee and mcdonald's have small parking lots. Unless there are less than 10 participants in the road trip i think having breakfast at the sm rosales mall will be more convenient with its vast open parking lots.
Sir jepoy, good suggestion, actually i dont know the road well, it was plan and in charge by sir JPG111, i only helping na, please PM him.....

We need your intention for the trip is more important, we can adjust route or restaurant.....

Hi guys, may I know what are my options in purchasing a floor mat/matting for our montero? Seems like the free floor matting included on our rides is not sufficient to cover all the space required, and it's really irritating when it slides while I'm driving.

I've check seatmate * mandaluyong and quoted me P3500-P3800.
They said they can provide labor if I have the material....(cutting)
I'm just looking for other options..... maybe I can buy the floor matting in roll and have them cut it.

Or maybe the Casa has one for our ride. ?

Any suggestions?

Subject: Re: Montero Sport 4x2 A/T Immobilizer?

Dear Darwin,

Thank you for your follow up query regarding the immobilizer system and please find below our reply to your concern.

1. What about for MS 4x2 A/T? does it have engine immobilizer?
Yes, the New Mitsubishi Montero Sports 4X2 AT is also equipped with immobilizer system.

2. Whats the purpose of the immobilizer?
The purpose of the immobilizer is to prevent the engine from starting the vehicle if a key other than the key which is registered for the vehicle is used after an attemp to start the vehicle after force entry.
Where it was installed and located?
The immobilizer is located and installed in the ignition key cylinder.

3. How it will function / its work?
The immobilizer works when the ignition key is turned ON. The registered ignition key transmits its own key ID via radio wave. Tthe immobilizer controls the vehicle starting sytem to function when the sent key ID agrees with the pre-registered one. Two ignition keys are provided, and up to eight keys can be registered to one vehicle as needed.

4. How to test the immobilizer on MS 4x2 A/T unit?
Vehicle with immobilizer system will not start using an unregistered key.

We hope that the above have adressed your concern and thank you very much for visiting our website.

Sincerely,

in contrast to what i found at the most recently published brochure of MMPC! please take note of the multiple boxes!

the red boxes are on the copyright of the brochure on when it was made plus the indication of the ENGINE IMMOBILIZER on GLS 4x4 and GLS SE!

what is this an indication of?! that the Immobilizer is a recent add on when Mr. Harry of MMPC replied or No Immobilizer for the GLS 4x2 at all?

on the next EB, i encourage everyone to put your KEYS on the TABLE! The thick key is the one with the immobilizer due to a microchip embedded on it compared to the regular key. Do take note of the difference per variant especially owners of the GLS 4x2 A/T.

Better yet, may i ask One GLS SE owner as well as an owner of a GLS 4x2 to post a picture of their key+transmitter. We will all be the judge! Thanks.

hi migs, musta too? we'll wait for the JDM pics

Re. Baguio Trip, i suggest that we leave at an earlier time for us to avoid the traffic along pangasinan (esp those trucks and trikes) para di mabungi ang line and somehow prevent loss. ideal is we leave manila at 4am, by 6 or 7am. we are already on our climb via Marcos or Kennon - whatever will be chosen.

2nd suggestion: may we consider a 1 day back and forth road trip? somewhere in the south, have some relaxation on those hot springs then come back to manila in the afternoon. going up north like baguio is a great trip but because of the distance, it may needs at least 3 or 4 days to enjoy. baka may mapagod or mapuyat (stress and lack of sleep) and it may add some difficulties going down.

again, my 2 cents
