[quote=XTO;1295375]Maybe your SA was not informed about the immobilizer on the 4X4 GLS.. The updated brochure of MMPC states that 4X4 GLS & GLS SE are equipped with an immobilzer.. Confirmed by "Frontier" & " TC237 "
Maybe the alarm remote with 4 & 6 buttons depends on the dealer
GLS SE with 6 buttons
4X4 GLS with 4 buttons
4X2 GLS keys with 4 buttons

[quote=tc327;1294944]Mga sirs Mine is like in picture. i got MS 4x2 AT.. is that correct? Is this type of key having immobilizer? and what about that thin stainless steel piece attached, i observed there a engrave numbers unto it. Tsaka which is which the Original and spare key... alin ung spare key? yong bang meron thin metal piece? Are these both keys are with immobilizer? TIA
Backread a few pages ago, that the original key is the one with the chrome Mitsubishi logo while the supposed duplicate is the plain non-chromed Mitsubishi logo.
The thin metal piece has numbers on it which helps Mitsubishi pinpoint your unit's ignition key record for future key duplication purposes. Show this to your dealer whenever you need to make more duplicate keys. Don't lose this piece.
[quote=Darwin_cd;1295546]sir darwin i think the one with chrome or stainless logo is the main key and the other one is spare and the steel tag i think like code for the key as i mentioned before you can make duplicate key and test it coz mine i test it before with duplicate key it will crank only the engine but will not start and also it can open the door but it will trigger the alarm, i have duplicate cause sometimes i forget my key inside the car, mine has auto lock activated,,,cheers bro lapit na bakasyon he he![]()

compare their stock rear door cladding vs our oem cladding.
guys if Im not mistaken the immbolizer code is in the alarm switch and not inside of the key, I tried it once in our strada gls sport, i remove the switch alarm and start the pick up and suddenly it doesnt start and it alarms. So the immobilizer is the switch alarm not in inside the key, Correct me if im wrong
the switch alarm im referring is the one together with the key.

Just to add for future reference, based from my "weekend field trip" Diamond Motors in c5 and Citimotors pasong tamo has different prices for each particular part/accessory. To sum it up, Union, Diamond, Citimotors have different price packages for their products.
I forgot the list of items and particular branch/casa to purchase your stuffs from in order to get a better deal.
In short if you dont mind the travel, if you want to save up maybe a few thousands you go to this 3 spots and get a specific item thats cheaper than those of the other two spots. Or i guess you can just go to gold rich for a packaged price. Im not totally sure though if what they have is genuine oem or just oem copy. Please enlighten should i be wrong about this.
i think our car's ECU has the answer to this.![]()
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImmobiliserIf the code is unrecognised, the ECU will not allow fuel to flow and ignition to take place. Later models use rolling codes or advanced cryptography to defeat copying of the code from the key or ECU.
The microcircuit inside the key is activated by a small electromagnetic field which induces current to flow inside the key body, which in turn broadcasts a unique binary code which is read by the automobile's ECU. When the ECU determines that the coded key is both current and valid, the ECU activates the fuel-injection sequence.
