Heya,

I got my M3 1.5V HB on April 8th with a 14km run prior leaving casa. Im just a bit confused as I observed my odometer advances way too fast. Today is the 8th day since I got my M3.

Atm, odo shows 356km run.

The farthest I have only travelled since it left casa was from my residence(filinvest, marcos hi-way) to Mckinley Hill, Taguig (1way ~ 20km > 1 trip) and Forest hills Subd. in Antipolo (1 way ~10km > 1 trip)

My usual daily routes is going to my filinvest to Cubao area (1 way ~ 9km).

I have not even travelled either in SLEX or NLEX going to any provinces yet.

I’ve tried to look at the manual and it says that odo may not show an accurate reading but I find this is too much. Given the distances I have travelled, I was expecting about 210-250kms run thereabouts instead of more than 350kms.

Did any M3 owners have this issue? Any advise on this? Would appreciate if someone can enlighten me on this…

This is my 1st brand new car(it’s an awesome car, btw!) but I never had this issue with my 2nd hand bought Ford e150.

Grats!!!! Have a cam installed in your garage. Someone might be secretly borrowing your new M!
Seriously, if you're correctly reading the odo, not the gas distance coverage left, have the dealership go over the BCM & all the speed sensors. Pretty sure it's just be a minor gremlin or glitch.

Hi Guys,

I've already got a mazda 3 2.0 HB soul red from mazda alabang last monday.. so far very much satisfied with the car.. I really think this is a bang for the buck car as I was talking to my friend who had a 2.0 Civic 5 years ago for the same price... and the difference between the 2 are huge..

just have a minor gripe with the dealer.. as I went to big bert yesterday to have my paint protection done and found out that my rear bumber has been repainted.. they say the repainting looks nicely done... but upon closer inspection with light you can see the difference.. i immediately called my agent and went to mazda alabang for them to confirm..

basically they agreed to replace my rear bumper.. my only concern is that will the rear bumper be original (as far as Im aware our units are CBU) and they confirmed it will be... also as far as im aware for replacements usually they order it with base paints and they just repaint it here.. if thats the case then i don't think there's gonna be much difference.. they said they will order it with paint already... but to speed up the process they'll just get from an existing unit so by next week they said they can install it already..

not sure if they are aware of this already from the start.. or is it a fault from the warehouse... but upon also discussing with big berts they said its not really uncommon (brand new units with repainted/touched up parts).. its just usually you ask for discounts or some sort of financial compensation..

just that you pay extra for the soul red finish for this one so you're really shortchanged if you're not getting what you pay for.

So they're willing to swap out your bumper from another unit's bumper? That's not a good sign. If it's me, I'd stick with the original bumper and ask for discount or service voucher or ask for accessories (reverse camera, better tint). No telling what will happen to the bumper clips when they remove it.

No matter how you look at it, thats bad faith from mazda ph or mazda alabang to sell off brand new when your bumper is already repainted.

The fact they will get the bumper from another unit as their suggestion, lalong loko loko yan dealer na yan. Something very wrong with their suggestion as a lot can happen...

Kawawang donor car, so lahat ng nagpapa service sa alabang check your bumper if pinalitan, i had experience with benz that switched my trunk floor and handle to a broken one. Good thing inspected before leaving the dealer. Go figure where they put mine, sa ibang auto malamang.

if it was any other color - i think id stick to my current unit and get the discount or items e.g. camera.. but im thinking ung soul red pala mukhang hindi kayang irestore talaga from original which is why im leaning on getting the original one..

i know toyo ung dealer if nanggaling mismo sa kanila na baka they'll get na lang from other unit to speed up the process and also during my discussion with big berts.. im the 3rd customer that they got with almost the same issue.. and un nga... ang nakuha lang daw din talaga nung iba is financial compensation and not unit replacement... its like daw kung may defect ung parts na binigay sayo e.g. headunit.. papaltan lang talaga is ung headunit hindi the whole car...

Sir same tayo april 8 ko dn nkuha m3 k0. 28km na nung nilabas ko sa casa. Ngayon nasa 360k dn odo reading. 2x ko lang nadala sa office. Pasig-makati. Pero pnahiram ko muna sa sister ko. Route nila is montalban -qc. Halos same tau ng odo reading sir. Balitaan nio ako sir ng ssbhin s casa

exactly why you should demand replacement, its not a defect, they repainted the car and sold it to you as brand new hoping you wont find out. You can easily argue kung what if may iba pang damage pa yun unit that they just repaired and covered.

That's some serious matter because it will affect the value of your m3. What you need to do is make some test.

Try setting your odometer to TRIP B then reset it by holding the stick. Go to some place. Get the TRIP B reading. It should roughly be the same distance with google maps reading.

I just did the test a while ago. I headed outside for merienda i got 1.4km back and forth, google maps showed 1.8km. You can also use smartphone gps odometer apps just to be sure.

My current odometer reading: 1131km, got my m3 late jan this year.
