I'm confident this can be corrected thru the BCM. The dealership might have to refer this to Berjaya.
There are 3rd party gadgets to DIY correct speedo/odo readings for non-stock tire diameter changes. Here's 1 example:

Simplest way would be to go w/ a GH tech from the dealership to a point w/ known distance. If the trip meter reads way off, then further steps should be taken.
But if tripmeter reads right, I won't be surprised. It's never uncommon to drive the 3 w/o distance consciousness. I get shocked seeing the reading on my known accurate odo myself.... It's really that enjoyable a car.

You know sometimes those short trips can add up and before you know it, those short but frequent trips just a few blocks away reach a hundred km already. Its also possible your tires are slipping. Another culprit could be that while the aerial distance is short (as the crow flies) on the road with its twists and turns and detours the distance actually longer. You can have a friend follow you around in another car and compare before and after mileages.

How I wish that it's due to frequent short trips but alas, my trips were infrequent since I got it from casa. I have compared it with my other car's odo(ford e150) as you have suggested and it's different reading from both.
Sorry, sir but what is tire slipping? and will this cause this odo reading advance too fast? my wheels and rims are still stock and I dont really gun the pedal too much... just about 40-60, ok na ako. And besides, the traffic here. bihira mangyari yon.

I'm not really endorsing nor recommending this 3rd party gadget approach. We don't want any warranty issues. Let the dealership look into this thoroughly.
Off the top of my head, as w/ electronics, this might just be a fluke electronic glitch. A harmless step you can take on 1.5s would be to unhook the negative battery terminal for a few minutes. This can reset your ECU. Much like rebooting a cellphone. Who knows, it might reset back to factory settings.
Please get back to us here. Thanks.

I get where the disappointment is coming from. Though difficult to bottle my OCD, I exercise expectation/tolerance management to max satisfaction. & oh, I can very well relate to what the good sir, balong, drove at...Everyone hates malice. It just always leaves that bad taste in the mouth...

A similar bumper experience happened to my OCD buddy...on his MX5. Prior to shipping to the local dealership from another up in the capital, the car was PDI'd perfect w/ him as witness. Upon arrival, the front had a chip & some scratches up the grille fascia that weren''t there before....obviously, from shipping. The dealership was open to touching it up free. He was thinking of getting a new bumper at personal expense but backtracked after learning panel parts ordered only come primed w/o the soul red. After some serious discernment, he tamed himself to live with it. The car is just as awesome as perfect. We all know some first scratch will always come.....His was just unexpectedly way sooner.

In the end & the big picture, bumpers are what they are...for bumping protection. They don't make nor break the car. I'd try to squeeze some good will, but not count on any...& be appreciative of getting no less than an M3.

It may be easier said than done, but even this OCD has long realized.... Material things are meant to serve happiness, not enslave to the point of misery....Again, just my humble 2cents, brothahs.
    bilis ng thread hehehe

travs, sayang your friend could have rejected accepting the unit, the dealers normally have the acceptance/delivery as the point of no return for customers claims

i once rejected a delivery, had a dimple ding in the center of the door, dealer took back the car and i waited to get another unit

unfortunately for me, bumper is a major part of the overall look of my car, lalo na if brand new, if its painted separately from factory (like in my bmw aero kit), the color difference is really noticeable, and chances are, the quality is less than ideal, (fades faster, clear coat is thinner), especially if its dealer painted. They most likely use a brand of paint that's the most cost effective for them, and di talaga pulido gawa sa casa, tipid yun gawa. Another pain in the ass with repainted bumpers, they tend to have cracked paint with gentle bumper flex vs orig paint na mas di nagcracrack.

    ragdoll711,

    congrats on your new car

you can do what others are saying, a simple confirmed distance test vs your car's reading will do, its the easiest test since you just need one driver and one car

Hehe, the excitement of having the long-awaited car in front was just way too overwhelming & overpowering for one to consider patience, balong sir.
We all know & agree w/ you on non-factory sprayed paint woes, hence he opted to just let it be.

Hello mazda 3 owners! I'm planning to buy a mazda 3 this year and i have a question about the mazda 3 paint thickness. I know this is not that significant but base on this thin paint? chips on hood - 2015 soul red - Mazda 6 Forums : Mazda 6 Forum / Mazda Atenza Forum the mazda 3 paint can easily chipped especially on the hood. Newly formulated na water based ang gamit sa mazda 3?
