Smiles & grins are normal...& don't be surprised if:
-you'll give your M a name.
-what used to be chores like washing/detailing will become your fave pastime.
-you can't take your eyes off that M...& would repeatedly turn & glance as you walk away.
-you'll find that urge to just sit & sip coffee somewhere at an angle where your car is in full view. I know some have transferred their coffee table to the garage.
-you'll gradually develop OCD. Puddles will feel like potholes. You'll cringe upon passing thru them.
-you'll start creating reasons to just drive down the grocery store even if you need nothing...
-you'll start talking to it & even wait for a reaponse....Hahaha
I can go on & on about observed symptoms of Mown3rship....
Sadly, there still is no known cure. Apologies if you weren't warned prior to purchase. Haha. Don't worry, you're perfectly normal, Ollie sir.:D
Bought this aftermarket headlight at Aliexpress. I'll update you guys once installed.![]()

I got it for $485 + custom tax not sure magkano kasi hindi pa dumarating dito vs casa OEM nasa 56k. The seller said plug and play daw pero as i researched sa ibang forum na mga nakabili na. Kelangan ibahin ung connector ng headlight para gumana yung hi-low ng bi xenon. Pero verify ko din kapag nakita ko na.
Actual pic of the unit.

I have a 2.0 hatch and I'm flirting with the idea of changing my rims for a better look. But honestly, I am very satisfied with the ride and comfort of the stock rims. So my question, what aftermarket rims (18s) and tires do you recommend which closely resemble the stock in terms of ride and comfort?
Also, is it true that changing with aftermarket rims may result in loss of acceleration?
Thanks!
Let me take a quick stab at this, but the rim masters should chip in soon...
When switching from 18's to 18's as well, ride and comfort should not be compromised. Its your choice of tires that could possibly affect the comfort. For as close as possible to stock (if not exactly the same), use your stock tires (215/35 if I'm not mistaken? Forgot na hehe) on whatever rims you choose. I personally use 235/40...and the ride is just as good, if not better, for me. Looks better for me too hehe. Most here use 225/40? if i'm not mistaken.
On another note, Choosing lighter rims will also give you gains in handling....trust me, you'll immediately feel the difference
Lotsa brands out there, depending on your needs and wants and budget. Mown3rs tend to like Rotas (good, decently priced, wide selection) - but theres also Rays, SSR, etc for the imported ones. For tires...well again, it depends on your needs, wants and budget![]()
No loss in acceleration, if they're the same size.
Can anyone give feedback on K-Sport, BC or Dynamics coilies? These are the ones all my suki shops are recommending. Am starting to give up hope on finding any Flex Z's for our beloved 3 (Riken has no date for import, and dont know of any other shop that has them). Or maybe H&R, and where can I find them?
To add on what lsdgenie pointed...
Key is decreased unsprung rotational mass. Reap benefits of added felt power, better acceleration, braking & handling by lightening your wheel/tire combo.... relative to what you have now.
That's just 1 of the easier mods w/ both aesthetic & performance benefits. Good grippy tires will shave track time & shorten braking distance, too.![]()
Do you plan to track or just want the flexibility in height & damping adjustments, sir? BC, D2, KSport, Dyna coilies are all decent coilies from Taiwan. Expect firmer ride on these.
But why not go Tein HTechs like most happy Mown3rs here? They ride like stock. Comfy.
Pair those HTechs with better dampers like KONIs when stocks go & you'll have a suspension system better than some entry to mid level coilies.![]()
hi! i'll be getting my Soul Red M3 soon. just want to ask for your input on what i should get in terms of paint protection. should I get Big Bert's Optiguard or the Pomponazzi/glass protection? Any other suggestions are also welcome and appreciated! Thank you!
