September 7th, 2005 02:30 PM #581Kaboodle - I was also looking for those tires as well and I was able to canvass somewhere in Cubao at 2900 each.
For those who have these tires already - okay na ba yung 2900 na bigay sa akin? I think wala pa nga balancing dun sa price. I was also thinking of getting the GoodYear Forteza at 3200 each - ok din ba yun or would you recommend the Dunlop instead?

mikey, sa yo pala yun. pinag-interesan ko nung nakita ko yun sa wheels last year. nabangga ko yung kasi side mirror housing ko sa gate, nabungi ung lock sa likod ng mirror. kaya the mirror vibrates (slightly lang naman) during nlex speeds. i didn't get it kasi english ang markings (yung bang "objects in the rear view ek, ek") eh sa akin eh korean characters.
kaboodle: ok nga yung dunlop lemans rv. i browsed thru an australian site while looking for its rated load capacity (kasi wala dun sa sidewall) and i discovered that it's classified as an a/t tire, aka all-terrain. ayush! during my last metromanila trip last weekend, i had the tires balanced in tire boy. since their nitrogen filling for those tires cost only P75, i had it done too. now my dunlops roll with nitrogen at 35 psi. btw, i got my tires from tsikoteer baiskee. last month, ben's ok in banaue also had them on stock at 3k each.

kaboodle,
Okay yung Dunlop Le Mans RV. I've been using them for over a year and they've performed well in both wet and dry driving conditions. They cost around P3,200 here in the province. Mas mura syempre pag sa Metro Manila ka bibili. You could PM baiskee for a price quotation, or you could canvass at tire stores. There's one in Cubao near Ali Mall that I heard has good prices, and they can even give you a discount if you trade in your old tires... I just forgot the name of the store.
Also, I don't see why having your tires replaced outside the casa will void your warranty. I had my tires replaced in 2004 and the staff at Wheels E. Rod didn't raise a fuss about it. It's not like tires are included in a vehicle's warranty anyway

September 7th, 2005 05:41 PM #585Thanks for all your quick reply. Ericmm, Diesoline, Trendy08 and Mikey177.
Mikey177, you are probably right about the warranty.
Diesoline, may contact info ka ba ni tsikoteer baiskee?
Ericmm, where in cubao? It seems it is reasonably cheap. It could be the shop that Mikey177 is saying. Mas maka-mura kaya tayo kung sabay tayo bibili?I will also check the price from pricesmart.
Additional question. Should we buy 4 tyres? or 5? I believe spare tyre is not being used most of the time and I can use my old tyre as spare. Thoughts?
thanks again all!

mukhang dyan ko din nabili yung dunlops ko, eto yung tire shops na marami between 13th ave and 15 ave right? along p. tuazon.
di ko lang sure kung DKC. basta second from the corner ako nakabili. 2,300 pa ata presyo nun pero tumaas na nga daw.
rarely used naman yung spare tire, so you can use your best old tire that you have right now. kung talagang wala ma-salvage, kahit yung tig 800 na kumho pwede na. hehe its up to you.

OT po: anyone experienced hearing unusual sound sa alternator---mukhang kumikiskis na wire or something. this started last monday night when i'm about to park the van when suddenly there's this unusual (rotating wire) sound coming from the engine. i've tried checking the fan/aircon belt suspecting that this might be the cause of the sound but instead found a strand of rubber na naka-pulopot sa alternator wheel. i remove it and proceed in parking, checking further, the belts were still intact thou i found (again) a short strand of rubber na nakapulopot pa sa alternator. hila dito tapos hila dun pero no effect meaning di ko pa rin natanggal. starting the engine would still produce a sound of rotating wire hitting the plastic fender cover. what do you think is the problem, please help!
