Guys, I was looking at the markings of the front windshield and I noticed the label "Solar Glass" at the bottom of all the markings. This label is also present on the left and right front door windows, but not on the other windows. Does anyone have any idea of what this Solar Glass is? Does it have any special light or heat reflecting properties?
mikey177, perhaps it has a UV/IR blocker film sandwiched between the glass. Or the glass is doped to block UV/IR.
Dacotyan and leolop, am sending the manual to your yahoo address. Kayong dalawa pa lang ang nagrequest magpadala via email. Paki check na lang. Estimate total 21 email msgs, kasi 10mb max per email, hopefully hindi mag bounce back, and then 170+MB lahat. Matrabraho pala, pati magpadala ng around 340 attachments!

i am a 2.5 v6 sedona A/T owner..got it in 2004. Ok naman ride nya...very powerfull and the best part is...walang usok unlike diesel engines. The problem is...it literally drinks gas!!! i get around 4 to 5 on city driving and around 8 on highway driving. Anyone else owns a similar model?? Just wanted to compare if the mileage is really that low!
andrew66,
since you got it last year pa im sure na "break-in" na yan. and is not the reason why it guzzles gas. when was the last time you had it tuned-up?

kakapalit mo lang pala ng pads, pero may parking brake warning light pa rin? when that happened to me manipis na ang brake pads ko. temporary solution was to top off the brake fluid. it only went off when i replaced my front brake pads. or maybe your parking brake is sticking up?
pansin ko lang guys iisa lang pala ang belt ng P/S , Water Pump at Alternator. sa dinami dami ng ihihiwalay yung Aircon pa. kakatakot pala maputulan nitong belt na ito. talagang crippled ka once nangyari to.
DacoTyan:: Yeah, maybe that's what t is. I couldn't find any info on this Solar Glass on Kia's site. Maybe Lensio could shed some light on this.
andrew66:: iqO also has a V6 Sedona that he acquired this year. I believe he also gets the same mileage as you do.
BTW, welcome to the forum
benchph1:: I used to carry a spare belt, but I misplaced it when we moved to the province. I think it's a good idea to start carrying that spare again.
I also got a more robust hydraulic jack last month since I don't ever want to try lifting our minivan with the stock jack.
last check up was just a few months ago. Total mileage on my sedona is 17k. I think its really the driving condition that increases consumption. We use it to bring kids to school...so short drive plus the traffic is always bad. Bottom line is .... this is not a good car to use for bringing kids to school! Best only for out of town travel....ive driven it to baguio twice already...and no complaints on the power...160Kph on Nlex with no problems....
I wonder if you were driving the V6 Sedona that I saw in Villasis, Pangasinan a few weeks ago. I just stopped to buy some veggies at the new market, and there was this red Sedona that also parked a few meters in front of me. He left two minutes ahead of me, and though I tried, I never caught sight of him again even until I reached Tarlac City. That guy must've been going at Warp 9Originally Posted by andrew66

na busy ako eh. part1 to 8 plus the stereo manual took me almost three hours to send even using pldt dsl 100mbps speed!. Mga 150 attachments na yata yan. Was out of the office whole day today. Am using my home internet. Tomorrow to be continued.Originally Posted by DacoTyan
There is a person named witch who is also asking for a copy of the manual. Pero sa hapon na niya sinabi after I sent up to part 8. Witch has yet to make his 1st post dito.
guys, I found out my brother in law had to spend almost 100K to overhaul the engine when the oil pump stopped working and did not circulate oil around the engine of his surplus carnival gen1 series. Natuyoan ang engine, kaya nasira!
Altec, no problemo. Again, thanks.
Regarding ATF, I switched back to Dexron IId from Dexron III. Unfortunately, the shop didn't completely drain the A/T by blowing compressed air so only 4 liters of Dexron IId was used. Anyway, the torque converter seems to hook-up better than before and the car feels more responsive.
i think thats it. stop and go driving in metro manila really produces the worst fuel mileage even with the most efficient cars. Options you have is to live with it or get another vehicle that you can afford to idle in traffic. 160 kph? i can only manage 150 in star tollway. the car can do more it is me that backed off :POriginally Posted by andrew66
Altec, pwede pasend din...does it include the car audio manual too? Hopefully, its not too late, I believe mabilis lang pag-"forward" na lang...thanks!!! ill pm you my email..Originally Posted by altec
from altec's post, it looks like the same case...so I believe it is a yes. yung oil chain kasi nakakabit sa oil pump.Originally Posted by bisoy

Mine is an M/T. I get a slightly higher mileage than Andrew66, I think. Mostly at 6K/L. But it's not much better than my RAV4. Tapos 95 RON pa ang required sa RAV4 while the Sedona is OK with 93. It's not that bad, relatively.iqO also has a V6 Sedona that he acquired this year. I believe he also gets the same mileage as you do.
just the owners manual, for those with the korean imports. I saw the service manual sa kia, super kapal. Dunno if they will allow us to photocopy. But lensio may have access? Kasi right on the dot yung fuel filter pictures niya, plus the fuel distribution system na nilagay niya dito sa thread natin.
