June 17th, 2006 04:30 PM #1142bisoy, i don't know if your model comes with abs. But abs hard braking shouldn't feel like that. When you hard brake with an abs system, you would feel it with the brake pedal, not with the whole body. Patingin mo na lang sa shop.
Additional info: actually, there was already a discussion here on the differences between the local carnival and the local sedona. Engine: Its basically the same engine, but with some parts modification. Aside from the oil pump chain mentioned by mikey, the fuel priming pump and the fuel filter is bigger. But be careful, when I had my priming pump changed, they installed the old, smaller design, and in the casa's computer, they are priced the same, but the filters are not interchangeable.
Headlights: Carnival uses 2 h4 bulbs, sedona uses 4 h7 bulbs.
Dashboard: Carnival's dashboard is similar to the ae92 90 corolla, where it slopes downwards towards the passenger side, while the sedona is more balanced with a top dashboard box aside from double passenger side dashboard compartments. Instrumentation is also different. Aircon switches for local and imported carnivals and sedonas are different. Carnival odometer is mechanical, sedona is digital.
Sliding door: Both uses dual sliding doors, but the sedona series are improved with a door open lock that prevents the door from sliding shut especially if the car is on a downhill slope. with the sedona, you need to press either the inside or outer door handle to unlock and slide the door closed, a very useful feature to avoid accidents from sudden door sliding closed.

June 22nd, 2006 10:23 AM #1143Hello Everyone,
It's been a while since I have visited this forum. Anyway, I am here to ask if anyone here have experienced having difficulty in shifting from Park to Reverse or vice versa. It seems when I shift to Park and vice versa, the shift knob is a little hard. Anything that I should be worried about this or is this normal? I haven't experienced this before and I have a Carnival 2002.
Bisoy,
How much did it cost you to replace the front brakes?
TIA guys.

June 23rd, 2006 08:34 AM #1144i think i spent around 3.5k for the front brakes. it should be cheaper if you can buy parts outside. here in cdo, walang shops nagbebenta ng mga kia carnival/sedona parts. kahit air filter!

Very true.
I got my brake pads for P2,500 at Fronte earlier this month. Does anyone know how much they cost at Karmelcon?

SOS.
My van's power steering fluid level went from Max to Min in about a week. Any idea where the leak is coming from?

My front rotors were resurfaced as recommended by my mechanic when I complained of the vibrations/shudder when suddenly braking

The local aircon repair shop said a new evaporator would cost me P8,500, but I deferred having the unit serviced until I gathered more info from this thread. Paano ba malalaman kung may butas nga o wala ang evaporator? Baka sabihan ako ng technician na may butas ito pero wala naman talaga. Bakit kasi ang layo ni Mang Mario sa Pangasinan
P.S.
I already found the source of the leak in my power steering system. It was one of the power steering bypass hoses, which I had replaced at Wheels E. Rod while I was in QC. The hose cost P250 only, may libreng engine and body wash pa
