leolop, the dunlop ec201s are good tires too. they don't look as good as the lmrv501s but with four of those deep grooves, they sure don't aquaplane. tested it na many times in the flood-ridden roads of tarlac weeks ago. costs P3K per in baguio city.

my lmrv501s by the time i replaced them early this july. excessive tire wear on the outside of the front mounted tires is really an issue with the carnival/sedona. my tire inflation is already 38psi (nitrogen) on all tires but still the tires wore out just the same way as the set before it.

jabr, thanks for the info. is pricesmart at the fort still open? their branch is in muntinlupa. heard they were having financial troubles.

diesoline, thanks so much for the pics! i was also wondering what the 201s looked like. there was an earlier post that the ec201s weren't as quiet and comfortable as the 501s, do you agree? did the 201s solve the front wear problem?

wala bang closer to quezon city that sells 501s and 201s?

mamar, i also experienced a sudden temporary loss of power steering once. but after being parked overnight, the problem went away and never came back. i posted it here a few pages back and altec suggested that it may have been caused by air in the hose. the suggested remedy was to replace the ps fluid, but i didn't do that anymore.

    Leolop:

I just don't know if PriceSmart Fort and Alabang are still open for business. Last been at Pricesmart Alabang last June '06 when I bought my LMRV501 for my KIA.

Pre, PM mo si baiskee. Madaming 501 sa bahay yun. Dunlop, GT, and (soon) Pirelli ang handle niyang brands.

Ako yata yung tinutukoy mo na nag-comment na mas tahimik ang 501s kaysa sa 201s. I had observed increased road noise after switching to 201s.

As it turns out, the switching of tire model was only coincidental. The real culprit was worn front wheel bearings. After I had the bearings replaced, the harsh road noise went away.

I can't comment on the wear pattern of the 201s yet as mine still have a good amount of tread on them, but the 501s I removed have the same tread wear areas as the ones in diesoline's photo.

i didn't notice any discernible change in road noise or harshness when i switched over to the ec201 set.

this particular set saved my speeding ass when i plowed into a long stretch of flowing water in paniqui, tarlac at around 100kph early one morning. i was able to make the curve despite massive rooster tails of water thrown out the side of the car. that was a major moment. hehehe! but the carnival was never out of control all that time.

you might be familiar with the area mikey177, it's the long sweeping curve in the vicinity of the intersection of the road to paniqui and the national highway with the cellular tower in the left side (southbound). sheesh!
