hinlog,
Thanks for the price update from Karmelcon.
Check out these old threads about Bendix brake pads. Maybe you'll find some useful info in them:

I was able to have my outer CV joint boot replaced right before the storm got bad up north. Was charged P900 for the procedure as the gas station mechanic had to repack the inner boot as well when they put in the new outer boot.
At least I can traverse those lightly flooded streets with more peace of mind now, but I don't ever want to go wading into deep waters. Luckily, I don't go to Dagupan often, which is where most of the flooding occurs.

boss mikey:
now i know that axle boot and cv joint boot are the same! hehehe... although ang laki ng price disparity sa qouted price ng kia las piņas at kia dagupan ano? had mine changed last tuesday, but i opted to buy oem parts at goodgear in pasay at 800 per piece. our friendly shell mechanic charged me only 500 for the replacement of left and right axle boot/cv joint boot (outer) or 250 pesos per side.

July 18th, 2006 04:10 PM #1164Hey Guys,
Its been mobths since i last logged in. Refresher lang for my case, i own a 2002 Sedona 2.9TCI matic, changed the timing belt, idlers, and a/c idler bearing too. Lately (2 months) i hear squeeking everytime i start the engine cold. Sounds metallic to me. I had the aircon pulley removed to check if there was any premature wear, ok naman. The sound i observed increased everytime i add load to the engine like aircon compressor on/off and power steering end to end operations. Any experience on this? please help. By the way meron biodiesel equipment sa UK na nakakaproduce ng 40L of Biodiesel from used kitchen oil per day! nawala ko lang yung web address. Tara gawa na tayo sariling bio D para wala na kita OPEC sa atin! ha ha ha.
Best regards to all,
Nanotech

Nanotech,
Sounds like a fanbelt. Have you had it checked by a mechanic yet?

July 20th, 2006 02:40 PM #1166Yup, but i only had the drivebelt for aircon checked (the short 1 4 groves) checked. The long one naman was also installed last December 26, 2005 and as far as djustment is concerned parang serpentine (mahaba) with auto tensioner. Should i have that checked too?
Tnx.

had my timing belt replaced early this year. i don't remember the exact figures but i think it is in the range of 12k to 16k. just make sure you have the water pump replaced even if the mechanic says that it is still ok.

hi guys. hows everyone?
i just want to share on what i had replaced on our carnival to get rid of the squeaking sound in the morning. Carnival has two tensioners, either of them might be the culprit. but in my case, replacing both of them didn't solve the problem. what the guys at signet edsa was replace the crankshaft pulley. pretty expensive, but the sound dissapeared.
our unit is pushing 60,000 kms. i'm thinking of replacing the timing chain and the a/t fluid. what was that thing again was it the timing chain or the oil pump chain?

nanotech::: Have you found the source of the metallic noise yet? I would expect the mechanic to check every engine component that might be the cause of the noise methodically until all possible suspects are eliminated.
diesoline::: What the deal with the water pump? Sirain ba yung piyesa na ito sa Sedona? What was your odometer reading when you had the pump replaced? How much did a replacement pump cost you and where did you have the work done?
benchph1::: I had my timing belt replaced at 70,000 km. I'm scheduled to have it replaced again when I reach 150,000 km maybe next month. It's the oil pump chain that was notorious for breaking in the 1st gen Carnivals, but this problem has been fixed (daw) in the Gen 2 version (at least that's what the service adviser told me when I asked him about it before).
