Ako naman may problem, baka merong maka assist. Somehow nag di discharge unti unti ang battery ko. It's quite new, (March or June '08). Pag discharged (not totally I think) 'di na kaya mag start. PAg ginamitan ng ibang battery or i series, start naman. Then pag tinanggal yung battery na pinang start, the engine doesn't stop. Is that a sure sign that my alternator's ok? Pag binalik yung battery, nagkakarga na ulit supposedly. Kaso after a few days (after a day & a half na lang lately) , ganun na naman. I can have the battery replaced naman yata. I just want to know kung pwede bang may diperensiya yung alternator despite it's ok performance pag habang hindi nakakabit ang battery (as in telltale signs kaya yun of it's deteriorated state?). Kaya ko naman naisip yun e kasi bago battery although it's not impossible na may sira nga yun. I hope some of you guys could share some inputs, thanks

I had a similar problem a few months back. I didn't use my ride for three days at nadischarge yung battery. After using another battery to start the car and binalik ko yung original na battery, kumarga naman. I had no problem kung overnight lang, next day ok naman at nagsta-start. I replaced my battery as a precaution - since due na rin naman. Then the technician at the battery shop said hanggang 12v lang daw yung karga pag me load so I should have my alternator checked. I did and it turned out that one of the diodes of the alternator's rectifier was busted. Cost me about P1,800.00 for the repair.

RE the aircon blower, 'di ko lang kinakatok yung box ng blower ko before, tinatadyakan ko pa if I was on the passenger side. Nawawala nga pero after a while di na makuha sa tadyak. I had the blower bought in Banawe, yung isa sa recommended shops dito sa forum na may numbers din a few pages back.

Hello mga Carnival Owner's. May nakita ako 2001 Carnival A/T for sale 298K I just want to know what are the problems you guys incountered with your Carnival. Gusto kasi ni misis dahil maluwang syang sakyan. Tamang tama pang hatid sa School. TIA

actually, halos lahat ng common problems ng carnival eh nasabi na dito sa thread na ito.. at lahat naman ay may solusyong malinaw na... sa A/T lang siguro tayo hindi makakasigurado kasi pag A/T talaga bumigay eh palit na talaga yan... common naman sa lahat ng car brands na nagkakaproblema sa A/T sa katagalan...malas lang talaga pag na tyempuhan ka...

check mo na lang maigi especially yung shifting nya.. tama lang sa presyo yan pero tawaran mo pa.. ayos naman ang kia carnival sarap i-drive yun nga lang malaki at mahirap i-park sa tight spaces...dami na din parts na bago at surplus

di na kasi kumakagat ung handbrake ko....pag naka slant ang park ko, dumudulas na sya, kaya dapat lagi nasa patag ang parking ko..

subukan palinisan, i had the same problem three weeks ago ok na ngayun ninlinis lang. baka manipis na rin brake pads mo.

before you adjust the footbrake, have your drum brakes checked first baka manipis na ang brake shoe mo sa likod... auto adjust kasi ang mga drum brakes kaya you need to check them regularly kung upod na.... pero kung ok pa, may adjustment yan footbrake dyan mismo, meron ka makikitang nut na connected sa cable you can adjust this para kumapit ng husto yung foot brake, adjust mo lang pa unti unti kasi baka masobrahan..

celdb: ano ba ride mo? kung diesel walang spark plugs. sabay mo na lang tune-up sa change oil mo. palit lahat ng filters - oil, fuel at air, kung well-maintained ang ride mo halos yan lang naman kailangan palitan (although yung air at fuel hindi pinapalitan every change oil, depende sa conditions where you use your car).

Tune up para sa carnival, change oil, oil filter tsaka air filter lang.

mura lang naman replacement air filter, kaya pinapalitan ko na rin.(600-700 php)

another thing i do is clean the exhaust pipes by filling it up with water (via the tail pipe), start the engine and rev it to flush out carbon build up. I do this 10-15 times.

sir utakbo: kia carnival 2000..diesel...kala ko kasi may mga tipong spark plug ung carnival...minimal lang pala ang tune up nya...tnx...

last nite going home nawala bigla power steering ko..tumigas ung manibela...
pinatay ko kotse then check...i saw that the fan belt? basta ung long belt, eh wala na sa pwesto...closer inspection ko eh, napunit ung gilid nya....although di talaga putol ung belt...

just now, ang sabi sa akin ng isang shop na pinuntahan ko sa pasay di lang daw belt ang papalitan nya

kungdi pati tensioner bearing and pulley...kasi daw malamang nasira na ung pulley dahil napunit ung gilid ng belt....

pag nagkabit ka ng belt lang eh malamang na mapunit lang ulit....

is this true?

andito ako ngayon sa marikina...car cant move anymore......anybody can refer a mechanic around marikina?

Suggestion ko lang, palitan mo na ung belt and buy 1 as spare. Kasi di lang power steering ang dinadala niyan, alternator din at water pump.

So kung power steering lang ang nawala kagabi, may isa pa akong naiisip na nagkaproblema, yung steering "coupling". pwede itong maremedyuhan by lubricating or syempre palitan yung coupling. Back read ka may nagpost dito ng picture nun.

mga peeps it seems na hindi battery ang problem. ginamitan ko ng tester yung battery more than 12 volts pa ang charge. ang alam ko around 13 volts dapat di ba? pag 12 volts kaya pa dapat i-start, pero yung carnival ko click na lang actually madami ang hindi gumagana including busina. bukas ko pa maipapacheck dahil walang bukas na talyer. ano kaya problema nito, grounded? ecu? wag naman sana

while your battery may seem to register "12volts" in the voltmeter, it may not be able to deliver the "current or amperes" your system needs... there could be voltage drop when you use it...

better to try it with a new battery or have your battery tested at battery centers... they will test its voltage with load... if it drops.. your battery is dead..

check also your battery terminal for possible loose..

sir, ok na...had it rush repaired by a freelance mechanic...luckily i found one..hehehehe

mga pinalitan: pulley, idler pulley, ung adjuster pulley?, fan, ac belt..change oil, air filter...haaayyyyy..cost me around 9+++ for the whole thing w/ service labor..the mechanic charged me 1,8k....damn......

kung di lang kame aakyat ng baguio that day..i would have waited for the repair...

anyways nothing went wrong nung umakyat kami sa baguio....ride was great....i was able to do 140kph sa SCTEX..i wanted to push more pero kasama ko family ko.....mabilis pala itong carnival..hehehehehe

ano ano mga ginagawa dito, anything to replace?

may suggest ba kayo na calibrating shop other than casa?
