I asked at Kia Cebu and the price range for the gas engine is 800K-900K
The CRDi is ranging from 800K-1M
The Carens looks good and seats seven ana not to mention the irresistable CRDi engine

Company minivan namin dati sa UK was the Kia Carens back in 2004 pa. Ok naman siya pero syempre talo pa rin siya sa bigger brethen niya yun Carnival.
Does anybody know if the 2.0L Gas version of the carens uses a timing belt or timing chain? Sa manual kasi walang nakalagay. Ang meron lang is timing belt change interval for "Diesel" versions. So i assume timing chain ang gamit nitong gas version. i haven't asked the dealer yet.
I also saw a carens display in one of the mall in Tarlac City and i was in love at first sight.
i personally prefer the 2.0 CRDI model due to high power rating (if the brochure data is true).
but one thing i dont like is the low ground clearance at 156mm.
medyo, delikado sa baha.
hmmm... but it is a very good option to the innova!
sana me magpost ng fuel consumption ng 2.0 CRDi variant manual.
sa mga new owners ng carens, pls...![]()
Here are some photos I took at Kia Pangasinan a few weeks ago. This first photo shows the interior with all the seats folded flat to maximize cargo space:
Second photo shows the dash and the front seats. The Carens also has a lot of cubby holes and other features that add to its appeal, although after having the parking brake cable release on my Sedona break after five years, I really must say that I am not a fan of foot-operated parking brakes.

Just yesterday at the 1st Phil. International Motor Show, I test drove an Isuzu Crosswind Sportivo A/T and then a Kia Carens CRDi A/T.
The Kia Carens is way, way better in drive and handling than the Isuzu.
Its interior looks better too.
The Carens drives and accelerates like a car unlike the Sportivo where
I had to floor the accelerator pedal just to get some decent speed.
Great family car!! I have to say that I am impressed...
Hi. This is my first post. This forum has been very helpful to us in deciding which car to get so I thought I'd return the favor.
We got an Almond Beige Carens CRDI MT last May (the week it was released) and just recently we already hit the 5k mark. Had our first oil change, too.
We use the car for city driving on weekdays and long distance driving EVERY weekend.
Here's our mileage report...
City driving (Davao traffic):
initially a very low 6km/L (lots of idling and experimenting)
average 9km/L
Long distance (Davao to Marbel):
initially 10km/L
average 13km/L
highest ever was 16km/L (my bro was the driver and downhill from Gensan to DVO)
We have had had no major problems with the car (thankfully). But just last week, we experienced our first flat tire. Was scared and surprised about the small spare tire but was assured by my Dad (who changed the tire for me) that it would still run well until the nearest vulcanizing shop. And it did. Whew.
The ground clearance is really LOW. But again, thankfully, we don't experience flooding so it is not a big deal. Our car already has a few scratches near the bumper, though.Brought about by parking too close to those cement bars/gutters at the mall parking lot. Was wondering if bigger tires would help lift it a bit?
Anyway, if you have any other questions, just PM me or post here and I'll try to get back to you.
This is too long already. Thanks for reading.

Sheryl, to improve your FC, shift around 1,500rpm and when cruising stay below 2000rpm. You only go beyond 2000 if you want to speed up. Normally the max torque is within 1800-2500rpm for these CRDis.

I've also had a few front bumper scrapes with my Gen 2 Carnival, even though it has a slightly higher ground clearance than the Carens. To minimize this, I try as much as possible to park rear first, or if this isn't possible, to alight from the car and visually check if the clearance is okay before moving completely into the parking slot. HTH.
