hmmm...sabi ng ahente dun sa trinoma showcase nila e yung diesel daw mga 12k/l..sobrang layo naman kun 5.5k yung actuals
Maybe the 5 km/liter is for the A/T variant. The sales rep I chatted with at Kia Dagupan also cited a figure of 12-13 km/liter that a doctor reportedly got using the M/T variant, with mixed highway and city driving.

I was checking out the Carens on display here last week and I noticed that it employs a footbrake instead of a handbrake as its parking brake, similar to the one on my Sedona.
I can understand the rationale for the footbrake on the Sedona, since it frees up the aisle, enabling ease of access to the rear seats from the front. With the Carens however, the front center aisle is occupied by an assortment of storage compartments, so I think the footbrake isn't really needed here.
sobra lakas naman yun pag 5.5km/L lang talaga ang carens.even worst than fusion(6km/L). I think Carens can do better than that!
I think this may have something to do with the US market. Remember those old full sized sedans from waaaay back had front bench seats? Foot parking brake is a neat way of making that middle position liveable. I also have dim recollection of some old survey/research that American women prefer the pedal parking brake.
the 5.5km/liter is applicable to gas-fed engines siguro lalo na dito sa metro manila, kahit anong gas engine over 2.0 talagang hanggang 5km/liter ka lang pag nakasabay mo mga hinayupak na Jeepneys and PUV
but I highly doubt na CRDi eh ganyan ang FC.
just got my Carens last week EX - gas a/t..........for my first 2 full tank...............consumption is 1 L = 6kms
Wala pa nagpopost para sa CRDi? Should be able to beat Innova 4d4 of 15km/l city driving or talo talaga.
Kaya ba D4D ang 15km/L sa city driving?I have drive a Innova G D4D. It only give me 8-9km/L sa CIty driving. and around 12km/L when I go to subic.
Paano mo nagawa yun 15km/L sa city driving. Pls teach me!

Me nakapag sabi lang sakin. Pero yan FC mo, malamang sobra sa traffic yan. As in sobra talaga. Pang Innova gas lang yan eh.
D naman sobra traffic. Regular city traffic in metro manila lang. At all the time mag isa lang ako. Full tank give me around 400km. Automatic nga lang yun.![]()
Hello Hominid,
My dad is going to buy a Crdi na Carens na M/T. I'll try to post my comments here & the picture of the vehicle itself when we have it. What i was able to test drive was the CVVT Shiftronic. I like the drive..it was like driving a car. What my dad liked about the Carens was how the concept was made...may SUV style ka na tpos may MPV ka pa. It's a vehicle w/ a dual purpose. Nice concept of Kia Motors.![]()
I've never seen more than 10 km/l from the Innova in city driving. And I don't drive it fast. Consumption is about the same as our Crosswind in all situations... but at least it's much easier to overtake with, and it drives very nicely for an AUV.
Tip: don't record fuel economy from the fuel-trip meters. They'll only show you transient economy. True fuel economy should be recorded by checking the odometer against fuel used.
If you're basing consumption off of the fuel estimate given on the onboard computer while running, that doesn't work. When you're coasting, you can get it to read over 20 km/l.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
i think fuel consumption will improve after 5Tkms...here is my recent figure when we had a family trip to baguio last month we leave early 11pm para iwas dami trucks.. total distance 918km (dami kasi pinuntahan ndi lang sa baguio) and total top up 67.91 liters of diesel for about 13.517km/l...i was surprise when we top up in la union before going up it cost me 900++ petot only to full tank from a full tank it was in lucena...
