2007 Kia Carens [ARCHIVE]

I have made reservation for the Carens EX CRDI. I suppose I am fortunate enough to reserve it at the old price of P1,150,000.00. I was told that today, Jul 7, 2008 a P60T price increase will take effect. Lately, the Philippine Peso and the Korean Won are both taking a beating in the FOREX. Maybe this has something to do with it, or if not that, maybe because the Carens is really popular in Europe and North America.

Incidentally, since I made the selection to buy a Carens, my wife thought it was her turn to select the color...and so we selected Volcano Red. I'm actually sold on the color red too because the chrome trimmings really stand out. See you folks out there...

I'm really glad that I was able to buy this car before the series of price increases but it really saddens me that the price increase had to happen in the first place... I really hope that CAC will roll back its prices again in the future.


Me too. If I hadn't purchased my Carens at the old price and was still in the market looking for a new car, I would definitely scratch off my list the Carens as one of my choices.The Carens is a superb car no doubt. But at this new price point (over 1M for the LX and 1.2M for the top variant), its not a good value anymore. Other choices like the Innova or the Grand Livina offer more value for money. Heck, even the Captiva is within spitting distance of the EX and presents a better deal. (THough personally I dont trust the Chevy brand because of the problems reported with the optra specifically of it being a gas guzzler.)

Congratulations sir on your choice. You have made the right one. If I may say so myself.
I love everything about the Carens and I have no doubt you will do too. The volcanic red is a nice color since the interior is beige. Its classier than the grey-black combo on my black carens. If not for my desire for black exterior, I would have chosen the white or red carens since their interior trims are beige. hayyyy..

ok din ang chevy captiva but i only notice (as i've seen them on the roads) medyo mausok ang captiva... very noticeable talaga yung black smoke.. as to kia carens clean burning talaga ang engine... pati sa first start in the morning eh walang nakakasulasok na amoy...

kia carens is a great car.. you get the convenience of a van and comfort of a car with a touch of a bit luxury and style.. and the engine acceleration is really awesome... even with 7 souls on board the engines torque is noticeable that the passengers are pulled back to their seats..

to alagad: comparing your car to your carens, your carens is heavier than the altis that may be the cause of poor FC if you compare it to them.. maybe you need to do change oil this may improve your FC and also try shifting from where you buy your diesel.

we had an experience before sa caltex quirino avenue although mura ang diesel dun by 1 peso but we think kulang ang karga kasi bilis maubos at mausok pa yung L300 namin but when we shifted sa petron here in las pinas ok naman naging matipid at nawala ang usok.. same din sa shell macapagal ok din diesel..

Lahat ng presyo ng produkto ay naa-apektuhan ng "Law of Supply and Demand", at ito siguro ang dahilan kung bakit nag-increase ang price ng Carens CRDI. Mas in-demand, mas nagiging mahal. Pag nagsimula nang langawin ang Carens at di na mabili, walang magagawa ang Mfg. kung hindi ang babaan ang presyo para mabili. Ganun lang naman ka-simple yon.

Tignan mo ako, ang price yata ng top of the line CRDI ay P925K lang nagsimula. Nang dahil sa paligoy-ligoy kong desisyon, umabot na sa P1,150,000 ang presyo bago ako nag-desisyon...Pero okay naman ang desisyon ko dahil sa tumaas ang palitan ng dolyar from P40 to P45. Kung naghintay pa ako ng isang linggo pa, di naging P1.2M na ang presyo!!!

Magkano naman (kung okay lang sabihin) ang lahat ng mods na ito...para medyo me idea ako kung ano-ano ang gagawin ko sa Carens ko pag nakuha ko na. Siguro unahin ko muna ang "stereo"..

Its a 2008 Model, Just got it last June 27, 2008... Have around 800kms on it.. Sa listed mods around 70k...

Next to go in will be my audio system... still planning if i'll be using my old amps, medyo malaki kase..

a) How did it affect your ground clearance?
b) Don't your wheels hit your fenders when turning?
c) How much and where did you buy them?

gud am guys ask ko lang kung worth it pa na bumuli ng carens im palnning to buy this week kahit 1.040m na ang price nya parang nag dadalawang isip kasi ako. tapos trade in ko yung carnival ls ko 2000mdl kinukuha nila ng 200k.

Benta mo na lang yung 2000 Carnival sa labas, baba ng offer nila 200K lang samantala yung 1997 Lancer ko nabenta ko P220K. Maganda talaga ang Carens, my friend also wanted one but just like you namalan na siya sa price.

You can also ask if they will give you an additional subsidy over and above their offered trade-in value of P200K for your 2000 Carnival. Some dealers do this to help out their clients...

As for the Carens itself, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Of course, at this point, the price will already be a major consideration for prospective buyers. But the Carens, at face value, is an excellent car nonetheless...

You can calculate the stock tire size vs the new tire you want to put in using this site, a simple tire calculator http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

A. Form the stock tires, with my upgrade, there is an increase by .5 inch, so the ground clearance is almost the same as stock..

B. Nope, The tires do not hit the fender, just make sure that the offset of your rims is correct, mine is +42

C. My friend owns MCS Tire Supply in Evangelista and Pasay Road, got the set of Mags and Tires for 50k...
