Kasi, with the new foot release, I can't imagine coming out of a slope without backing up first... because if you have to use your left foot to disengage the brakes, you won't be able to use it for the clutch at the same time to ensure that the car will move forward without sliding back down first... argh, i cant seem to explain it properly...

Anyhow, all of this is in my head because my Carens is an A/T but I would really appreciate it if someone could put my head back on properly with what I'm envisioning as a slight problem with foot coordination with the M/T with a footbrake foot release...
if it is M/T with footbrakes here's what i do

to dis engage and prepare to move upward/forward

pic 1
press the brake with the right foot, then disengage the foot brake with the left foot

pic2
then transfer your left foot to the clutch pedal, put the stick into first gear

pic3
then try to move your right foot making it horizontal with your right toe portion on the brake and the bottom part of your right foot on the gas pedal, then slowly releasing the brake while depressing the gas at the same time somewhat tricky but it should do the job

OT: i often do this with our other car before since it always dies if i don't press the gas pedal, same thing also on slope, i press the brake and gas pedal at the same time to stop the car from rolling down and for the engine to continue runnig by pressing the gas pedal at the same time

sir mqavila & fast lane,
thanks for your response...wow para ka pala nag- "HEEL & TOE" pag ganito...so I.M.O. parang mas okay yung 2007 Model (yung kasi na test ko sa Kia Pasay....) with the Footbrake pedal release via a hand lever (near left hand side of Steering wheel) when starting off from a slope. so u don't roll-down kasi u can still have ur right food depressing on the Brake Pedal?

a more simplified solution...nothing a sizable piece of rock or block of wood cnt handle hehehe jk...
kinda cumbersome pala ang parking brakes ng new models

regarding footbrake, my SA told me na yung engage/disengage by foot ay sa high-end model lang i.e. EX, pero yung LX ay engage by foot tapos ang release nya ay hand lever near the steering wheel, i cant confirm for LX A/T, this is for 2008 models.

Nice Setup sir... Why not place the amp under the front passenger seat... tapos quick release terminals for your sub box, so in case gagamitin last row pwede tanggalin sub box and still have your amp powering your front set... Just my 2 cents.

I already thought of putting the amp under the front seats. The problem is that there is an aircon vent there and I was afraid the sub or the wirings might interfere with the airflow. Besides, it would have been a complicated install if I opted for that.and yes, the sub box has quick release terminals just in case I need the cargo space.

Like sir Itlog na Pula, I find it hard to adjust with the footbrake. Nasanay kasi ako na kapag uphill traffic eh ginagamit at nirerelease ko handbrake prior to climbing from a stop position. Now its getting to be a challenge with my Caren’s footbrake though the footbrake release lever is within reach. Hindi ko pa kayang subukan sa ngayon in those tight situations.

The problem is, everytime I come from a stop position in an uphill traffic, umaatras ako ng konti and there were several instances when the engine would die down because I am not yet really familiar with the clutch “timpla”. Oh well, sanayan lang siguro ito.

Overall, the performance is very good.

Thanks sir.

congrats to the new proud owners of Kia Carens...

regarding the footbrake release while uphill on the manual.... it really would take some time to get used to it. Tama naman yung style ni bro fastlane... never mind kung mapalakas yung tapak sa accelerator rather than mamatayan at worst case, mabangga. Ang dami pa namang driver now na mahilig tumutok while uphill... delikado. Take care on the road guys.... peace.

yup dapat nissan gl kukunin ko but kia quirino ave. gave me a high trade in value for my nissan sentra. and gusto ko talaga power and cabin space ng carens crdi.

after ko mag painstall ng hid 4300K last night i went straight to tagaytay with 3 passengers. the engine performance of carens is awesome. the ride was smooth just like my sentra. i gas up worth of 500 pesos of diesel fuel and to my calculation( not that accurate) my fuel consumption was 13-14 km/l. speed is ranging from 60 kph - 120 kph.

very satisfied din ako sa 4300k hid. kahit foggy yung daan maliwanag parin

sir icemancm nice meeting nyo kahapon sa autoline.

we both change our stock low beam to 4300k hid.

Set na tayo ng EB..Mahirap kasi hanggang plano na lang yung pagtayo ng club. At least, kung eb na, susunod na yung club kahit na may unofficial club na tayo dito sa tsikot

Thanks! Nagitingin na ako sa Ace Hardware sa MOA at sa Festival sa Alabang pero so far parehong out of stock, haha!

Maybe mas ok nga na magpa-custom na lang instead of buying the rubber tray.

Yes mga sir and ma'am. let's setup an eb na. I think the best place to setup an eb is at metrowalk. then we could schedule it on a saturday night para mas walang conflict sa mga owners. Then we could inform ladyrider na din. siya kasi ang maraming knowledge sa mga ganito e.
