Guys, normal ba yung namamatayan ka ng makina? Sa short city driving dito sa Baguio nangyayari ito pero sa NLex di naman nangyari. Hindi ko alam kung yung timpla ko lang sa clutch or it might be something else..TIA.

That blinking of the lights is definitely a feature of the alarm they installed locally. Iba kasi nga yung sa lx versus the ex. I think it's just a wire from the alarm box itself that you can have removed. I have the same feature in another vehicle at medyo nakakairita nga talaga. You hear the clicking of the relay for several seconds. You could maybe have the casa schedule an appointment with a technician ng Winterpine para alisin nila yung feature na yan.

Good Day... I noticed that when I open any door of my Carens, the park lights blink... is there any way to bypass this? Thanks

Try reading the owners manual of the alarm, meron kasi dyan mga settings that you can program to your desired features. Buti nga sa iyo it blinks lang when you open the door, yung sa akin maybe mali ang setting na na-program, kasi when i engage the alarm it blinks and beep 3times, dapat it should blink and beep 1time lang, tried bringing it to casa, di rin nila kayang i adjust

had the same problem sir 1st few weeks...its a matter of getting used to, this is ascribable to the massive torque of the engine. Your hunch is correct, timpla ng clutch...

anyone here experiencing some rattling in the rear like it's coming from the tailgate? I am hearing some rattling when passing uneven roads it's like the sound of the hinge of the taligate when you try to open it.

Try checking baka may mga na loose na tools dyan sa back compartment or baka yung seatbelts.

Kailangang masanay talaga, so unlike the manuals of other cars. But you could really feel the power underneath the hood kung bibiritin mo. I have driven my Carens twice to Baguio and walang problema going up the zigzag and overtaking cars along the way. My EX Crdi does not have this "blinking feature". Could be unique to the LX models since we have different alarm systems installed.

Just some clarification to my reply above: My parklights also blink when arming/disarming the alarm system. They do not blink when I open the door after disarming the alarm.

Thanks for the replies sirs... Nakakirita lang yung tunog ng relay pag may open door... Yung alarm nga pala is an AVT, na galing sa casa... hindi po ata audiovox...

Thanks din for the input. While on my way to Manaoag Pangasinan from Manila (nung kakukuha ko unit ko), may kasunod akong Carens Beige na Gas ata yon kasi walang CRDi na tatak sa likod from Urdaneta to Manaoag. Nakakatuwa kasi kaming dalawa lang magkasunod na sasakyan on a lonely road at parehong Carens pa.

I brought this to work this morning. Kulang na lang magbigay ako ng pamphlet containing all the FAQs (para di na ako explain ng explain) to curious co-workers. Etong Carens lang naman ang dinudumog at although hindi na ako comfortable, Im still a proud and happy owner dahil daming interesado. Di ata dinudumog ang mga ibang brand new units na pinapasok sa University..hehehe May mga nagtatanong din ng trade in promo ng Kia.

Since June 28, (sat), I already logged in 400 kms kasama na dito yung mga pag ikot ikot ko sa Edsa sa kakahanap ng U turn slots. Hindi ko pa maipost ang mileage ko since more than 1/4 pa lang ang natitira sa tank (from a full tank pagkakuha ko sa Signet).

Fellow Carens owners now I know how you feel about this Car. Dati naiinggit ako sa mga post ninyo pero ngayon masaya ako dahil may unit na ako.

Yun lang sir nakaka irita nga lalo na kapag naka radyo ka at may sumasabay na tunog. Baka pwede nga idisable yan basahin ko na lang mabuti yung manual nung alarm.

I have been following this thread for quite a long time. I was able to testdrive the manual crdi and it really convinced me that the new car for our family is a Carens. I called one of KIA's dealership ( Cabanatuan ) and asked for trade in value of my revo glx 2000 ( gas ), and Mits GSR 97. As per policy daw, they only allow one vehicle for trade-in. The trade in value of my revo is acceptable at 300k. Isa lang kaya talaga policy ng KIA regarding trade in ? TIA..

There are not too many shops selling accessories for Carens, I have no idea kung meron sa may muntinlupa. But if you try to browse sa mga previous pages, you may get an idea on what to do. I remember a member posting pictures of what they did sa trunk area.... parang bumili ata sa Ace or similar hardware store ng mat/carpet at cut it according to the shape of the trunk. Hope this helps....

I'm already on 4,950 km and almost due na ko for 5K PMS. Where do you recommend should I go? I got my unit at Kia Libis. My SA recommend bringing my Carens at Kia Pasig, feedback nman po about their service. Mas ok ba sa Kia Mandaluyong (Signet) or the one at Pasay.

I know there have been discussions abt this before kaya lang ang haba na ng forum eh, di ko na mahanap which page. How much did you pay for the entire PMS, including parts to be changed, oil, and labor? Free dapat yung labor diba? Can I bring my own oil? Ilang cans yung nagamit?

Sorry if I have lots of questions about this, 1st time car owner po eh ;)

emms1121, last saturday nakuha ko na carens ko..ganda performance...nag avail din ako trade in..
pwede kita matulungan sa trade in ng 2 sasakyan mo..dito ako sa manila..pwede mo ako ma contact 0917-882-3986.

if ever dito ka sa manila makakakuha, good thing din kasi brake in mo na din carens pauwi dyan sa inyo

BTW does anyone know the type of bulb for our hi and low beams? Im planning on upgrading it to philips extremevision for better visibility. thanks

I have my 5t km pms check up kia pasig. I am not satisfied with their service.
1) its not clean, only one or two mechanics is available.
2) at that time no lifter because they have a problem with meralco
3) the motor oil is pumped from a big drum and transfer to a plastic 4 gallon container there is a danger of dirt or small particles contamination.
4)They charge about 1,500 for the labor if I am not mistaken

On the other side
1) the staff is accommodating
2) technical know how is fair enough if they are not sure they asked assistance from the plant
3) the customer lounge is nice , clean and comfortable .
