I think the official launch will be during the 1st Phil international auto show of CAMPI (tama ba?). Sa Aug 9 ata ito. Hope they also give good promos at the car show.

I saw a new Grand Starex from about 50 meters, while it was lining up at the Krispy Kreme drive thru in Greenhills. It was following a Hiace Grandia (the model before the current big ones). Though it appeared to have a lower ground clearance, the roofline was about as high as that of the Hiace. And it was about as long. Laki!

A couple of days ago, saw one along Tomas Morato. White. With all those plastics on the seats, stickers, looks nice and freshly imported. I easily saw the "VGT" sticker on the doors... ganda! There is something so european in the looks of the new Starex. It reminds me of the Mercedes Benz Viano/Vito.
Then, yesterday i passed by Standout Motors along E.Rod...Wow! Daming bagong Starex!!!
Really nice.

Hi... actually we have plans na buying a Starex GRX na 10 seater probably this year... eh nakita ko dito sa tsikot yung Grand Starex, aba nagandahan kami! Tsaka syempre nag alangan kami bumili ng Starex dito kasi may bagong model na pala. Hehe! Gusto nga namin pumunta sa Standout kanina kaso we don't have time. Maybe next week siguro we'll have a look at the grand starex. Pero i think sabi sa forums ididisplay din ang bagong starex sa car show sa august? That would be nice... ^_^ drools.. =)~

finally got to see the new grand starex at the CAMPI motorshow... got the chance to see the inside and the engine compartment of the grand starex.. its a great looking van,, but when i sat on the the drivers seat..i couldnt help feeling that it was a lot smaller than my 9 seater 2001 starex.. it must be the lower roofline,.. but i just dnt remember my head so close to ceiling of my current starex.. and it doesnt seem to be wide as the my older starex.. and for a 5'9 person like me the rear seats would certainly be very cramped. am i totally wrong bout the size? i half expected it to be a lot bigger... now if i decide to buy a new starex il more than consider just getting the curent 9 seater or the jumbo for that matter...

well the specs says its bigger than the curent model.. it definitely is longer than the 9 seater or even the jumbo.. i guess the roofline is the only thing that is lower than the current model which is probably the reason it feels smaller... it would be great to have the older model and the current new model side by side to really see the difference...

Just got back from the CAMPI show and to tell you honestly with all the hype that went into the grand starex that I was a bit let down... I was seriously consedering to waiting for the unit but was told that the Euro 3 (Not CRDI) is coming out in late October pa and starting price at OVER PHP1.5M and the Euro 4 (CEDi) in late Nov early Dec with a price tag of PHP1.7M to PHP1.8M. I belive they over priced the van!!:down: At those prices and that long a wait, They are nuts.... What impressed me was the Kia Carnival EX (LBW)at PHP1.570M CRDi na and with all the bells and wistles included!!! I know it lacks a bit of leg room on the secound row but all that trunk space and power everything... :groupwave:

I am a going out of my mind on this??? I am test driving the KIA Carnival tom just to get a flavor of how it rides....

Is there anyone out there that can set me straight here.... I need to make a decision by next week... Need a new family car my 2002 CRV not big enough anymore and selling it...

bale confirm na dadalin dito saten ung tci version at ung crdi w/vgt ... regarding price po wala pa talaga final announcement. it ranges from 1.5-1.7M. un palang po ang sinabi samen... will keep u guys updated pag nagbigay na po ng final price ng specs thanks

so its still practical to just get GRX CRDi... i hope they drop the price to below 1 million. heheheh
