Mine is 8k plus kms na and makapal parin brake pads.

Pero yung akin no brake dust so far and pag dumumi wheels pati likod sabay, dahil kasi sa putik sa daan.

I have a Hancars CVX Grand Starex acquired March 2011. I am planning to replace my stock Multimedia Head Unit, and also the speakers. No need for a gps capable HU as my stock GPS is working well. Also, HU must automatically turn ON the rear view camera when gear is in reverse mode, and must also have option for connecting the stock middle lcd tv monitor. A 7" lcd monitor, widescreen touch, is preferred. Based on initial web search, Pioneer's AVH P4300DVD seems to be it. If anyone knows of a kenwood or alpine equivalent, my advance thanks for the tip.

Best regards to this forum which helps many.

On my experience with my vgt, power is only adequate considering on paper the engine specs looks formidable. It really has to do with the vans enormous weight. Since the tci basically weighs the same, i would make a wild guess that the tci would be underpowered. I had driven a previous gen Starex with the tci m/t engine before and it felt underpowered.
To be sure just test drive both the tci and vgt and see what suits you. Frankly i would go with the pre owned vgt than buy a new tci m/t. But that's just me. Although generally new cars have less headaches compared to used ones, sometimes you get to buy a brand new one only to find out its a lemon.

    hi to all,

i had this same predicament of choosing between a brand new TCI or a pre-owned VGT last november 2010.

to make a long story short, i got the 2008 VGT unit. it had 18k kms on it when i bought it and was very fresh. may plastic pa nga ang ibang items sa loob like the visors, glove compartment, and some parts of the sliding doors. malinis na malinis yung unit. pati yung mga door step sills ay walang scratches.

it's been with me for 15 months now, logged an additional 10k kms since then and i'm happy with its performance.

i agree with some who observed that sometimes you would feel that its power is just right and occasionally bordering on feeling a bit heavy. altho most of the time, especially on straight clear roads, mabibilib ka talaga sa power nya.

Mid to high end power is actually there on the CRDi VGT. You can feel it when you're just cruising, say at about 100 kph, then you shift to manual but keep it on the same gear, then floor it. The engine lets loose and 140 kph won't be too long away. The brick like aerodynamics probably is not too helpful, but the wide track and firmer suspension does give the GS stability to go fast. On a good road, 190 kph was a cause for concern.

Anyhow, if you rarely hit the open roads and/or do not attack them, then I would think that the TCi should be ok. Enjoy.

Hello fellow GS owners. I have a few questions lang wala kasi sumasagot sa THP forum.

    1. I plan on putting euro plates sa GS ko yung front madali lang gawan ng paraan yung likod hindi ko alam pano kasi yung butas sa tailgate ng GS namin nasa gilid (black backing plate ng pitstop) either tanggalin ko yung bolt sticking out of the trunk or butasan ko mismo yung euro plate kaso parang sayang naman.

    2. May alam kayong mabibilan ng i800 na emblem? :D

Ang plano ko either use the stock tube then replace the stock airbox with an open air filter like k&n or change pati yung intake tube to aluminum.

    Thanks

    1. Naka bolt down siya...

Mukhang bubutasin mo yung euro plate.

Ganun parin same as original pero LED module na yung nasa loob.

Brake lights at signal light yung LED.

Brand new unit from Pit Stop yung nakita ko.

You would actually get less horsepower and torque on open type air filter mod only, the stock airbox was designed and built with long hours of R&D so we would get the most power with the least consumption out of our engine.

wifey brought the GS for 15k pms today. di pa pinalitan brake pads, makapal pa daw pareho front and back sabi ng hyundai balintawak. so score one for driving style vs brake pads quality. sa mga mabilis maupod ang brake pads, magbago na kayo, daang matuwid!

may bago daw pakulo ang HARI. fully synthetic oil na lang daw ang pwede sa crdi, di na pwede semi-synthetic. can anyone please verify with none-laus group hari dealers.

Yan din ang savi sa akin during my first 1K Km PMS. Hindi ako pumayag, semi-synthetic ang pinalagay ko.

A more free flowing air filter element (drop-in) might help a bit. It wouldn't be that dramatic tho.
