grabe naman presyo yan, presyong previa na.
Have you visited the Grand Starex that the Grey Markets are selling. I think you will not be dissappointed. The price for the automatic is 1.548m but it is CRDi VGT, more options than the one you saw at the motorshow, and immediately available for delivery. Come and check us out before any decisions are made at 1595 E. Rodriguez QC. Thanks.
The new Grand Starex looks more compact because of its design but it is definitely larger than the 2001 model that you have. You are right with regards to the roofline. They did drop it by about 35mm for a sleeker and aerodynamic design but the length and width were all increased. With regards to the rear seats: although it is an 11-12 seater van, most often than not, you don't always seat 11 to 12 passengers everyday. That is why all the seats can be moved/slid forward and backward for your legroom. In fact, the last seat can be folded (like cinema seats) , if not in use, to increase the legrooms of the seats in the front. Lets face it, if you want more passengers you definitely have to sacrifice on the leg room but since the seats are movable, you are given a chance to adjust them base on your comfort preference. Isn't that the beauty of this van that others in this category doesn't have? Bring your 2001 Starex at Standout Motors and compare it side by side. It's a pity that the Grand Starex in the Campi motorshow was not presented properly. They also put on demo an entry level or base model unit. Hay nakuh, better go to the Greys because you get your value for money.
How about after-sales concerns? Can units acquired from gray markets be serviced/entertained in accredited hyundai dealers?what is the prevailing condition for this..
i do agree with you that the grand starex is bigger.. but i just felt cramped in the drivers seat... and the roof line conecting to the windsheild was a bit too low for me.. a mean for a big guy like me.. thats all i really noticed and didnt like.. the driving position is what i didnt like most of all... for the first time when i sat in the kia carnival or sedona that was there i actually liked it better from the drivers seat.. i guess im just dissapointed that the drivers seat of the grand starex was so much different from my current starex, which i enjoy driving so much.. thats basically, or only the thing i didnt really like...
Considering the Carnival also has a foldaway third row, that's not an advantage to the Grand Starex... I suppose Hyundai will need to sell the old Starex side-by-side with the new one if the prices are going to be that high.
It's still cheaper than the Previa...
*king12: post sa MIAS thread yung test-drive ng Carnival LWB, pls.![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
HARI people in the PIMS are nanghuhula lang ng price... hindi sila consistent.. sabi ng isa for the CRDi 1.4m, yung isa 1.8m pinakamahal, yung isa naman from 1.5-1.7m naman... mas naniniwala pa ako dun sa model na katabi ng grand starex eh... 1.4-1.7m sabi niya for the CRDi variant... hehe may picture pa nga ako kasama yung model hehehe....
sorry sir sa inconsistency but ang sabi palang talaga is 1.5-1.7m. hindi din po sinabi na ung 1.5 is ung tci while ung 1.7m is ung crdi w/vgt... pag may final price na po kame inform ko po agad ang forum naten![]()
Grabe ang daming tumitingin sa bagong Grand Starex CVX dun sa show since Thursday...This only shows na malakas talaga ang appeal ng bagong Grand Starex..
Surprised ako na dinala nila rito yung 2.5 CRDI engine na nasa GRX ngayon alongside with the 2.5 CRDI VGT variant..Sayang at isa lang ang airbag ng Grand Starex, and the seats aren't that great...
Siguro nasa 1.7-1.8M yung HVX na top of the line na Grand Starex ng HARI...
Nice specs for the new grand starex but too pricey for a van 1.7m-1.8m![]()
Also went to WTC kanina, straight to the Hyundai area. Pinag-kakaguluhan ang Grand Starex. An SA told me na 2 engine variants and ilalabas ng HARI: (1) The TCI engine ( 101 HP only - same as the pre-CRDi models) which will come out in September; and (2) the 174 hp CRDi VGT engine which will be offered mga Q4 na. They had on display the LWB model (11-12 seater) with 4 rows - absolutely no more luggage space sa likod. The SA said they will come out with a SWB model din na 9 seater and shorter. Hindi pa power ang dual sliding doors and tailgate, unlike the new Kia Carnival . Oh well, the question now is : will you buy a 101 HP new body grand starex for 1.4-1.5M? Yung VGT model goes for 1.7-1.8M, but at least you have a new engine with it.
if totoong 1.7-1.8M ang crdi vgt starex e dibale nalang, unless maging one and only ride lang sya ng bibili, too expensive for a van IMO.
The Php2.2M previa it competes with isn't exactly cheap. hehehe.
Just think of it as a Php4M MB Viano that's on warehouse sale.
Dami din naman less expensive vans to fit different budgets.![]()

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
1.5M-1.7M with this kind of interior? No way! Siguro ok pa Kia Carnival nalang bilin or the current Starex GRX. Hopefully maglabas sana HARI ng kagaya nung sa Korea na Grand Starex... worth buying. We're really disappointed from what we saw at the car show...

It is just too expensive. It's way out of my family's budget.
I'd rather keep my current 2004 GRX AT for the next 5-7 years....
Or, if I decide to buy a van/mini-van in 2 years' time,- I'll be looking at the Innova or any of that class of vehicle (around P1M).... I am sure the family will fit in it.
Goodbye brand new Hyundai Starex! HARI sure knows how to make their loyal customers feel good....

If the price of the new Grand Starex with VGT is around 1.7-1.8M, tama lang. Toyota Grandia 2.5 AT nga nasa 1.775 na eh, di hamak na mas maganda itong Grand Starex![]()
