are you sure it's tci ang ilalabas ng hari? same engine as the 2000 starex? di kaya paatras and hyundai nito since puro crdi variants na ang lumalabas? why not hari just stick to the crdi unit with non-vgt turbo which has better power than the tci. the grand starex seems to be bigger and heavier than the old starex and the tci could be underpowered. for the higher end model, the crdi vgt is the other option for the buyers. the 1.5M models in the grey market already comes with crdi vgt engines. you'll lose alot of buyers if you price your tci same as the crdi vgt's of the grey market. ain't this deja vu from the old grey market starexes and local hyundai dealers during the emergence of the starex van?

Hmmm... not bad actually! Even with the "older" TCI, it still has more power (+40hp) & torque (+100Nm) than its nearest competitor (the Hi-Ace).

Re: "overpricing". Keep in mind that the top of the line Hi-Ace variant is retailing at around P1.8M.

Though keep us updated on the pricing of the one with the new CRDi + VGT engine.

hmmm. the price looks okay, though it's only a tci like the millenium models. competitive pa rin price. i guess the crdi will be around 1.5m like the grey market prize. everybody was speculating that the tci willbe around 1.5 and the crdi at 1.7 which looks expensive. buti naman mukhang ok a pricing ng hari. 1.5 may be big but it's the price of an all new model and engine. anyway we have an alternative in the tci model which is not really underpowered.

Sana yung mga presyo ng mga CRDi w/ VGT di lumayo sa mga presyo ng Standout. So far, mukhang swak pa naman ang pricing ng HARI pero mukhang aabot nga sa P1.7 - P1.8M yung top of the line if we are to base it dito sa Standout pricelist:

Yung 100bhp TCI talaga ang 'international' engine ng new Starex as per their press release. We get the CRDi and VGT because we are what carmakers call a 'non-legislative' market [in short walang malinaw na rules dito].

AFAIK, the newer engines are still undergoing certification to be legal in other legislative markets. Yung TCI matagal nang certified.
