Saw an Orange Ecosport (Titanium?) roaming the streets of Alabang last night, around 9PM? Doubt this was a test drive given the time of day. So some people get first dibs or is this a review unit being brought home?

Yes, the ASEAN/Thai EcoSport like the Indian and Chinese EcoSports are FWD-only.
The only plant that builds the 4WD EcoSport is the Ford plant in Brazil since there is a demand for small 4WD crossovers in their market/region.
The 4WD model uses the old flex-fuel 2.0 Duratec engine.
For those curious, most of the empty space under the cargo floor is filled up on the 4WD version (rear differential, independent rear suspension, relocated muffler etc)
    Salamat po Sir

Ako na din po ang sasagot nito... based po dun sa pictures from Team-BHP:

YES! Pareho po ang GAS Tank Cover ng Ford Fiesta at ng Ford ECOSport... which means it will easilly fall-off if not applied with proper adhesive. Sana man lang nilagyan na nila ng screws. So pag bumili po kayo, make sure dikitan nyo na agad ng mighty bond para hindi mahulog.

We have a Mk2 Focus and the plastic fuel filler door is also bonded with adhesive, not screwed on.
So far after around 7+ years, no problems.

IIRC may slide out takip sya. It looks like part of the roof liner. Kung mainit pa rin VKOOL clear lang sagot dyan. Tapos RainX on the outside para iwas watermarks

I wish I could say the same with my Fiesta Imagine walking towards your car at night suddenly noticing a round black shadow where the gas tank cover was. To my surprise, there it was beside the rear wheel, it just fell off. Had to glue it using mighty bond the next day.

    Ah here it is:
It makes me wonder if it might float at that level already, assuming all doors are properly sealed and water can't get in.

    It's already been tested.

Remember, wading through 550mm of water in an EcoSport is not the same as wading through 550mm of water in a car that's much closer to the ground.

The appeal to me of the Ecosport is the head turning appearance, higher stance, and that 550mm water wading capability. If ever I would get one, I would still opt to have it lifted with bigger and wider tires to match.

Ma-OT lang saglit, anong year yung Fiesta ninyo sir? We have not yet experienced this with our 2014 Fiesta, pero kung ganito nga ang mangyayari mas maige bang tanggalin na namin and imighty bond na in advance?

I was one of the first to buy the Fiesta when it came out. I don't know if they changed anything in the later models or if they addressed this already. The Fiesta Gas Tank Cover, at least on mine (before I sold it and replace it with my Suzuki Jimny) is only held in place by plastic railings, yes it can easily be slid-off. You can check yours just to be sure. If it is loose, I suggest glue it in place before it slid-off by itself or worst... it can easily get stollen and re-sold in Banawe .

Sorry, I too am not familiar with this. I now live here in CDO City, so the best way for me is to bring it to the professionals here at TRIX AUTO SHOP.

To add to my wish list... I do hope they bring the 4x4 version and Diesel variants here then I might really get one, specially now that I am thinking of upgrading in a year or two because of additional family members.

    Hi...

    Link: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offici...al-review.html

If you follow the link above, all the way down is a picture of the Gas Tank external cover of the Ford Ecosport... it looks exactly like the Fiesta Extetrnal Gas Tank Cover. From that picture, that orange red (round metal cover) is only attached through plastic rails. So basically if you slid it off, you are left with that "black plastic horizontal closure" attachment for the "round metal cover".

    Hope that picture helps.

test drove the ecosport las Wednesday at Ford BGC. According to the SA the test drive units weren't complete and there are some features that may be added on the production units due to arrive on April, particularly on the Titanium trim.

The sound deadening for the ambient noise was ok but you can definitely hear the exhaust when accelerating which in my opinion defeats the purpose . All in all I think it was ok but I found myself wanting something more of a premium interior feel similar to the newer Fiesta for the price of the Titanium trim.
