pls dont get me wrong guys ha. gustong gusto ni mrs yung exterior look. kesa nga naman bumili ka ng sedan, e di eto na almost same price lang sila pero mas mataas ang ground clearance nito di ba? pero if you take a look on the interior look, parang tinipid talaga. engine nya mukha pinilit ilagay lang sa kanya. in the long run baka sa simula lang malakas ang benta pero baka pag lumabas na ang totoong FC nito at performance, baka bigla humina sa market.

deciding if you will be the first car owner on the block to bring home that new face... exciting gamble..
i tried that once with the 2005 innova.. winner!
also tried it with the 1996 besta.. winner! ... until my sperm count started going down.. heh heh.

Hoping it would have high fuel consumption so people won't buy and there'll be discounts and no dealer's incentive.

ford isn't exactly known for creating frugal engines except maybe their new ecoboost which we still have yet to see in philipine driving conditions (explorer with the ecoboost engine is just a tad acceptable for fuel consumption for a vehicle of that size)

The engine and a lot of the switchgear and components came from the B-segment Fiesta which the EcoSport is based on.
The modifications in the engine compartment are mostly on relocating the electronic components so it can wade through 550mm of water which is on par or higher than that of larger C-segment crossover SUVs.

I think its FC should be acceptable for its size and body-type (B-segment crossover SUV).
Regardless of size, don't expect crossover SUVs to have exactly the same FC as the lighter more streamlined cars they're based on. (example CR-V 2.0 vs Civic 2.0)

My top pick would be the P825K EcoSport Trend MT.

Dropped by Ford BGC kanina. They had the Trend AT on display.

halos lahat namention na about it sa thread nato but in case lang.
It had LED eyelids sa headlamps. Space is good for me (5'7+" 140ish lbs), setup the front for myself then tried the back, maluwag for me, kahit tatlo ako siguro. Para sakin ha, yours may vary.

    Meron sya roof handles.

Rear seats are easy to fold.

Walang lock fuel lid pero may cap.

Found the left driver drawer as not being lined up right with the dash, parang service cabinet lang ata to not really meant to be used and baka sa display unit lang yun, sa iba might be somewhere else.

Mostly plastic interior like most cars nowadays.

Sturdy naman mga controls, knobs etc.

I believe it's the same as the Focus, the fuel lid is connected to the central locking system.

The display and test units were built weeks before regular volume production began.
These units are actually some of the first LHD EcoSports to come out of Ford's Thai factory.

Thanks for posting the interior pics of the EcoSport Trend model.
When I tested the EcoSport at Bonifacio High Street two weeks ago, they had a white EcoSport Trend MT at the parking area, but the doors were locked and the sun had already set so I didn't have a good look at the interior.

Can't generalize. Too many different cars, different engine series, different classes.

The Fiesta 1.6 DCT was more economical than the Vios 1.5 4AT. The 1.5 DCT Fiesta is better still.

Focus 1.6 DCT, so-so... 2.0, pretty good for the powah. The Focus TDCI, RIP, was fantastic... economy was good, wtih butt-kicking performance.

Old Lynx 1.6.. crap economy, 1.3... great... 2.0... good for the power.

Ranger 2.2, great. 3.2, great on highway, merely okay in traffic.

Explorer, V6, not bad compared to other V6s. 2.0T... better.

Escape 2.0, horrible. Escape 2.3, acceptable.

    -

Ford's reputation for guzzling really came from the Expedition (hell, waht do people expect, 2.5 tons and a V8!)... and was reinforced by issues with the Lynx AT and the first Escapes. Otherwise, their economy is not bad compared to competitors... and better, in the case of some models.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I saw a unit awhile ago and its nice for a below 1M car. Alanganin lang yung rear seat kasi looks tight for 3. Definitely smaller compared to like a crv. Havent test drive yet medyo busy kanina ang daming tumitingin. Sana walang power shift concern for the ecosport compared sa iba na may lag daw.

I see. It is just so amazing that you have so much knowledge about the Ecosports. Have you seen it personally? Did you try driving it? Can you share with us your experience? Thanks.

I test drove the EcoSport Titanium at Bonifacio High Street last Jan 31. (The photos I posted of the Blue EcoSport, I took those after the test drive)
If you're familiar with other recent Ford cars, you'll feel at home in the EcoSport.
Ride and NVH is average for a B-segment vehicle, though during hard acceleration, engine noise was more noticable than in the Focus Mk2 (my daily driver), then again that's a C-segment car.
It's definitely not a hot hatch and has no aspirations to be one (its heavier than the Fiesta), but as an urban cruiser, it gets the job done.

Quality seemed ok, but I was informed that the test and display units were built before regular production began in Thailand (that maks these units one of the first LHD EcoSports to roll out of the Thai factory).

I think it's a good alternative for those looking for a B-segment vehicle with more ground clearance than a regular car but wants something more refined than an AUV (Avanza) and more rugged/stylish than an MPV (Spin).
If I would rate the EcoSport Titanium Powershift based on that short drive, i'd give it a rating of 8/10.
*I would have given it a higher score if the Titanium model had the new 1.0 EcoBoost engine.

Since I researched the car before it was launched here, I more or less had an idea of what to expect. So test driving it was more like just confirming what i've read and it was better than I expected.

PS: Given the chance to buy one, i'd go for the Trend MT and just add backup parking sensors, I think it's the best in terms of value and I also prefer doing my own shifting.

thanks sir. I really love the looks of the Ecosports. My apprehensions are the FC and hirap talaga umakyat. the engine vibration was so strong that even if you are inside the car, you can still feel it. The dashboard was really vibrating.

I see, its better to test drive one again in the future. The real production units should hit the showrooms this April, i'm guessing this period is being used to sort out bugs and address quality issues etc of the early build units.
PS: The unit I tested was the Lunar Sky one, thats the greyish color.

I am not really a fan of the TOTL models even in my previous purchases.

If I were to buy this (for wifey's drive), I'd go with Trend AT.

For 100K,- the differences between the Trend AT and Titanium AT (at least according to the Ford rep who accompanied me during the test drive a week ago), are push button start, moonroof, design of the alloy wheels and leather seat... Not much,- so the rest of the P difference goes to the "Titanium branding"

A bit OT: Hassle ba ang moonroof / sunroof on city driving during summers? Sorry never owned a car with them yet. :D
