Just look at the on board fuel consumption meter to get an approximate.

Hoping it would have high fuel consumption so people won't buy and there'll be discounts and no dealer's incentive.

The engine and a lot of the switchgear and components came from the B-segment Fiesta which the EcoSport is based on.
The modifications in the engine compartment are mostly on relocating the electronic components so it can wade through 550mm of water which is on par or higher than that of larger C-segment crossover SUVs.
I think its FC should be acceptable for its size and body-type (B-segment crossover SUV).
Regardless of size, don't expect crossover SUVs to have exactly the same FC as the lighter more streamlined cars they're based on. (example CR-V 2.0 vs Civic 2.0)
My top pick would be the P825K EcoSport Trend MT.Last edited by AG4; February 15th, 2014 at 07:45 PM.

ford isn't exactly known for creating frugal engines except maybe their new ecoboost which we still have yet to see in philipine driving conditions (explorer with the ecoboost engine is just a tad acceptable for fuel consumption for a vehicle of that size)

Can't generalize. Too many different cars, different engine series, different classes.
The Fiesta 1.6 DCT was more economical than the Vios 1.5 4AT. The 1.5 DCT Fiesta is better still.
Focus 1.6 DCT, so-so... 2.0, pretty good for the powah. The Focus TDCI, RIP, was fantastic... economy was good, wtih butt-kicking performance.
Old Lynx 1.6.. crap economy, 1.3... great... 2.0... good for the power.
Ranger 2.2, great. 3.2, great on highway, merely okay in traffic.
Explorer, V6, not bad compared to other V6s. 2.0T... better.
Escape 2.0, horrible. Escape 2.3, acceptable.

Ford's reputation for guzzling really came from the Expedition (hell, waht do people expect, 2.5 tons and a V8!)... and was reinforced by issues with the Lynx AT and the first Escapes. Otherwise, their economy is not bad compared to competitors... and better, in the case of some models.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I was able to test this in BGC and ang napansin ko nga is yung vibration ng engine... but comparing it to new gen fiesta, medyo same naman nga. I guess, normal lang talaga ito - ford cars-gas?, or this variant/platform?.
Question: if your company will let you choose your car and this is one of the options. will you still get the trend AT or will you get the titanium?
Conditions are:
Company will shoulder the cost of the car
Company will shoulder the maintenance/registration/insurance
Employee will shoulder gas
Employee Preference: A/T
No, but it was what sounded closest to Bill, bill. Ha ha ha!
