CRDI for only around 40-50k php higher than the ecosport titanium. Looking forward for this. Need to see in metal the additions to its body dimensions though. Sure na ba yang 1020000 na yan boss?

The 1.020M price tag of the Kia Soul won't cut it. The Montero sport non-VGt is already giving away almost 150k worth of discount and freebies or roughly at 1.150++ M. At over 1M and just a diff of a 100k + better get the Montero

If mini-SUV naman get the ecosport trend at less than 800k

And also, wait for the Jimny diesel, darating daw

as far as I know, Ecosport is highly competitive when it comes to price. for those whose on bank installment, you have to shell out more for LTO and insurance. you need to pay 20 to 30% as downpayment plus LTO around 7.5K and comprehensive insurance around 40K (can stretch for 5 months which depends on the bank). The bank has an option to pay your monthly after two months(with more interest) or pay 1 month advance(less interest). Goodluck!

On some dealers, LTO is 11k. Insurance is 20k which may be payable in 3 months.

Sir, the EcoSport should be covered under a "Private Car" insurance. Meaning, mas mataas ang premium niya vs the ones that fall under "Commercial Vehicle".

And you're right, P40k premium is a bit high.

I am sort of having second thoughts with the Ecosport. My brother told me not to buy anything Ford. High cost of maintenance, spare parts, etc.. Baka mataas pa fc nito.. Ayoko magsisi. Pero as they say, risk naman talaga ang pagbili ng sasakyan

Tingin ko magiging FC nito mas mababa kaysa sa Fiesta, since mas mabigat ang kaha niya which is evident with the slow acceleration, but that shouldn't be the reason why you shouldn't purchase it (aside from your brother's disapproval). Check if the EcoSport matches your needs and requirements (budget, tall ride, nice handling, high wading depth) and decide on that.

I've considered a few cars - Vios, City, Civic, Jazz, Accent, Lancer, Altis, etc. that can be within 900k budget. Then here comes the Ecosport. One important consideration for me is the tall ride wherein I won't worry driving on rough roads(in the province & a lot of road widening) and some flood. I'm on call 24/7 (lalo na kapag bagyo) since I'm working in a utility company. Wanted to get the Accent dahil diesel kaso parang naka-lowered, also 2014 models were stripped down. The Hondas are expensive - price, maintenance and parts, but have good engine. The Lancer is getting old but I think still reliable. I don't like the looks of the Altis. Vios was my 2nd choice if ever the transaction with Ford won't push through.

We are only 3 in the family kaya enough ang space. Wala naman masyadong nakikisakay sa akin kasi baka ma-late sila sa pagpasok sa office. Hihingan ko sila ng 20 pesos kapag nakisakay sila sa akin kasi pampa-baba sila ng FC. Hehehe

Coming from a Mirage HB GLX MT, siguradong maninibago ako sa FC since I'm getting 15 kpl on city driving on my HB. Also was able to get 33kpl on our last Pangasinan trip. The Ecosport might only have 7-9 kpl. Possibly due to the power to weight. Tiningnan ko ulit yung Ecosport sa isang showroom. Mabigat nga yung mga pinto. Dahil kaya para mapa-baba yung NVH?

Anyway, any car brand has their own flaw. Its up to you if you want to take the risk or always be on the safe side. I took the risk on the Mirage when it was first released. Now I'm taking the risk of the new Ecosport which will stay with me for many years... Car price? This is what I can only afford for now.

Mechanically, the EcoSport was designed to share as much parts with the Fiesta, maintenance costs should roughly be the same.
Note: Maintenance costs of the Fiesta is comparable to that of its Japanese-branded competitors.
The myth that Fords have high maintenance costs was born from the fact that the first models to be sold here after Ford returned to the country were full-size V8 models.

Fuel consumption is expected to be slightly higher, this is usually the case when you compare any crossover with the lighter sleeker car its based on.
On the plus side, you do get a roomier interior, higher ground clearance and better water wading capabilities.

The most important thing of course is to go for a test drive.
