4x4community za member bad experience on ecosport Ford Ecosport 1.5 Titanium petrol - 4x4 Community Forum
it's a new product, so expect to see similar or other "issues" with the car. My primary concern in buying a Ford is the after-sales service / experience. If you're not worried about it I guess the Ecosport is a good buy indeed.
Note that it's a relatively new engine too with a lot of electronics. I would've proffered the tried and tested diesel engine variant available in other countries. Lower fuel cost and more torque :p
The 1.5 Ti-VCT engine has been used in the Thai-spec and Indian-spec Fiesta since 2011.
It's nearly identical to the 1.6 Ti-VCT engine it was derived from, which can be found in the pre-facelift Fiesta sold here (2010-2013) and has been in use by Ford of Europe (in 1.6 liter form) since late 2004 (Euro-spec Mk2 Focus).
I think the engine as well as its twin variable cam timing technology has pretty much been tried and tested.
The 1.5 liter (1499cc) Ti-VCT engine is basically the older 1.6 liter (1596cc) Ti-VCT engine minus 97cc so that it can qualify for the lower (engine displacement-based) tax bracket in some markets (usually 1.5L and below).

I learn a lot by just being a trollThanks.
There's a lot of hands on review on youtube about the Ford Ecosport. Right now this SUV is on top of my list
...
visited ATC yesterday and saw the Ecosport.
I prefer the styling of the Trend because of the silver accents on the grill compared to the chrome accents of the Titanium
but I like the sunroof of the Titanium!
Medyo masikip nga lang sa 2nd row seats. Better kung dalawa lang talaga ang uupo.
Yes, the Chevrolet Spin Diesel is also a contender. The only thing I don't like about the looks of the Spin is the back part, plus the Spin gives you the feel of a Mom driving a minivan to school.
No offense to anyone.
The Ecosport on the otherhand gives off the "cool" look. I just hope they bring the diesel and 4x4 variants here, and I hope they price them below 1M, preferably around 800T. Otherwise the Kia Sportage and Kia Carens will beat them in sales right now with their sales promo.
...
Haha, sige, will wait for the mall tour to stop by MoA and test the EcoSport nalang :D
The EcoSport is roomier than the Fiesta, both front and back. Another thing, since the EcoSport's body doesn't taper (get narrower after the B-pillars) as much as the Fiesta, the rear seats are wider.
What kind of sales promo?
According to this sales guy at a Kia mall display earlier, the 1.6 LX AT costs P934K, the only Soul currently offered in the country. It only has 1 airbag and no fog lights, it clearly has less features than the EcoSport Trend (P825K for the MT, P875K for the PS).

Really? I was under the impression na kaha lang talaga pinagbago and seats are the same. Based from the pictures of the interior sa previous posts parang ang sikip rin kasi tignan, pero baka dahil pushed all the way back yung front row. Excited na akong makita yung Ecosport in person and magsisi sa purchase namin ng 2014 Fiesta
No... what I meant is that, if they are to introduce the 4x4 or the diesel variant, I hope they price it at the 800T mark, because with the Kia Promo now, both Sportage and Carens are very close to the 1M mark. So pricing them close to 1M might cause buyers to look elsewhere.
May nakakita na ba ng base model in person? All black grille looks good
OT:

IMO, the Carens' overpriced (at least for the top of the line) that's why they're giving huge discounts.
Original deadline was January 31 then they extended it to Feb 28... wala talagang takers hehe!
