Bigger yung BD7028 afaik but sa volmax BD28 lang available so ok na yun.

May post si dvldoc, much better ata filtration din ng BD7028.

haha, andito na mga pajero boys!

Ako Delo Sports semi-syn kasi sale pa ngayon. P1,035 lang 5liters. After noon pinagpipilian ko ay Mobil Delvac MX, Calted Delo Gold Ultra or Bardahl DI+. No need for semi-syn naman pala kasi kayang-kaya nila yung every 5,000kms or 6 months na COI ko. But Top1 SDO puwede din.

CI-4 na. might try that one on the next oil change if priced less than 200/L

There will be no performance difference over Mobil1 TDT and TOP 1 synthetic diesel oil. Top one actually has more additives so it will provide better wear protection and they have about the same TBN. These will both go 10000kms with a good filter easily.

It boils down to price and availability. Personally I would go with the Top 1 because it has a better API rating which = more ZDDP for better protection.

There is no definitive study that shows group III synthetic vs group IV like mobil1 have a disadvantage. API rating is more important, besides the older engines and lower hp 4cly turbo diesels are not running 400hp to 500hpand 8 cylinders like diesels overseas and for sure are not pushing the boost levels of those vehicles.

TOP1, Delo, and many other locally found brands provide excellent protection. Top1 is about equal to Mobil Delvac 1300 super. Which is great oil and what I use.

Guess after my stock of delo sports runs out I will be using Top 1 na rin since it's semi-syn. hehe

Will also try their Top1 SDO-MC.

*CB: Ganda ng avatar mo sir ah. hehe. Yung sale nga pala ng delo sport dito ay sa isang gasoline station. Marai siguro talaga stocks kaya may price-off. Baka nga selected lang.

dvldoc, can you give me advice on what is the best bang for the buck oil to use for a gasoline toyota engine?

the toyota engine is known to sludge. I will also try to look for Baldwin filters for the 2NZ-FE(1.3 Vios) and 1TR-FE(2.0 Innova).

    thanks!

I am not really around to give you prices locally but Top1 from what I have found is one of the best bangs for the buck. They have good synthetic group III oil. Now if you engine is a known sludge monster you want a oil with high calcium in it. There diesel oil is actually is what you will want to use, It has just the perfect amount of zinc to keep your catalytic converter happy but 300ppm more than the SM rate automotive oil.

Now the passenger car oil is not bad at all but if you can get the diesel for the same price I would. Here is the difference.

Top 1 Evolution 5w40 oil, TBN of 7.8 not bad but not the greatest, Zinc 900ppm not bad, phos 775ppm to low for my taste. Viscosity index is only 130 which is strange because it should be higher for 5W40 OIL that is group III.

Now the Evolution 5w40 diesel, oil has a TBN of 10.5 which is very good and you can run it a easy 12000kms with a baldwin filter, I has 1200ppm zinc the perfect level for max protection and good cat life. There diesel oil accross the board is 1200ppm zinc.

Delo is very cheap and great oil but the zinc level is to high for gas engines unless you have a older car with no catalytic converter.

There are other brands that are probably just as good. Your filter is the BT223 if your wanting to get a baldwin.

Bardahl and ZIC oils are two others you should also be looking at, I posted the spec sheets a few pages back. Looks like they have average prices from 200p to 300p a liter..

dvldoc, i checked and the oil filter for 1TR-FE is:
    BALDWIN B132
    BALDWIN BT8409
    and for 2NZ-FE is:
    BALDWIN B2
    BALDWIN BT216?

    or am i wrong?

as for the motor oil, can i use Havoline line of Caltex? or its better if i use diesel engine oil? As for Top1 oil, i have been using it in my diesel engine, and i am really convinced with it. but no idea with their gas engine oil. the evolution line is as expensive as Royal Purple and Mobil1 FS oils.

    Havoline Formula.

i think i need to be very careful in selecting the API ratings of the oil as using the wrong API will also cause sludge right?

The BT223 fit perfeclty with all 4cly gas Toyota engines there is no way your getting a B2 oil filter on a 1.3 Toyota engine. Not sure where you did the cross reference from. But here you can see it's the B33 JS Filters :: Application Cross Reference and Image for JS : Oil (Spin-on) : C110J You can use the B33 but I prefer the BT223 because it's just a little bit bigger.

Top 1 diesel oil is great for gas and diesel since it's additive package is not to aggressive with the Zinc 1200ppm is perfect. Diesel oils have higher detergents as well so they will keep your engine cleaner so you can use that in all your vehicles.

You defiantly do not want to use the 20w50 oil in your engines unless it's a older worn out diesel. If the oil is the new API SJ rated oil you don't want that stuff it's weak sauce there zinc is around 850ppm to 900ppm and Phos way down in the 600ppm range. They do put in around 40ppm moly and some boron to make up for it a little. Not really the best oil out there.

Don't know about there diesel oil I would have to dig up a spec sheet the MSDS do not state the exact formulation but a range.
