March 26th, 2012 02:44 AM #1624Doc, what can you say about SF (SureFilter)? Some of our heavy equipt uses this filter but i can't find the spec's. Heres the site(some dead links) Sure Filter Technology USA - Home
Im also researching on Standyne, Mahle. Is there a possibility that some manufacturer supplies the filter to them?
Onether thing i'm investigating is that most Germans uses Hengst but Hengst is supplied by Mann, here's how i found it. I checked for Hengst equivalent for B233 and upon purchase, i cut it open. Found out it was the same as Mann. Hengst hasent replied yet for the micron rating but i requested also to check the authenticity because pics werent the same.
BTW Hengst is 3x cheaper than the equivalent Mann, even more cheaper than B233.
Im having filter fettish again.Last edited by 12vdc; March 26th, 2012 at 02:49 AM.

The Surefilters are made in Malaysia by a company called Powerfil. They also make Sakura filters so I'm sure the quality is probably the same, Looks like they use a mixed media like Baldwin instead of strait cellulose. So I guess it depends if the Surfilters have the same specs and use the same media. If so then it looks like it should be a decent filter.

Found this on the Hengst looks like they are pretty close to OEM and actually looks better than the MANN.

March 26th, 2012 08:10 PM #1626Sakura filters are made in Indonesia by the ADR Group of Companies. Even the Sakura filters are
being counterfeited! JSakura is not made by them. See the Buyer Beware page of their
website: sakurafilter.com
As to Mahle, they have their own filter plants. Most of their output is supplied as
OEM to the car/equipment manufacturers. Their after-market strength is in European
cars. They are not so competitive in filters for Japanese cars.

Counterfiters do not advertise they make your filter, I looks like they are a distributor of their filters not the producers of them.
In the beginning PowerFil carried many different brands from all over world, providing filtration solutions for different segment. Later in 1995, PowerFil took up the SAKURA HEAVY DUTY line and distribute it across Malaysia as its primary product.
Now, PowerFil is able to provide a very comprehensive range of heavy duty and commercial filters by a combination of local manufacturing SANKEI ROKI and FILGUARD, and imported range with major brands SAKURA and SURE FILTER on is inventory.Last edited by dvldoc; March 26th, 2012 at 08:53 PM.
