Browse the web out of curiosity and seems that most of the known branded OCCs have nothing inside or un-baffled, as they term it. Is this effective, some say yes others say no? Contemplating on having it opened and put some perforated sheet between the two nipples? TIA.
The square can style or round style will normally have a baffle in them. The purpose of the catch can is to separate the oil mist from the air and this is best done by slowing the flow so it settles out. If what you find is not baffled the best material to put inside for maximum effectiveness is fine grit steel wool, your other good options are a steel scrubbing pad, or foam. These all work great for getting the job done and are cheap.

Would you know of the Bosh, Baldwin, or Purolator oil filter equivalent for the 1FZ-FE engine (80 Series Landcruiser) and the 2UZ-FE engine (100 Series Landcruiser)? I currently use Toyota OEM oil filters on these rigs. Thanks.

The 1FZ-FE will take a Baldwin B2 filter. And your 100 series fits a Baldwin B228 filter but if you have a extra 3 inches of space i would use the long version which is the B178 it will give you longer filter life with the added media surface. You'll just have to check to see if you can fit that with nothing touching the filter and still be able to access it with a filter wrench to remove or replace.

Bosch in the states is different from there so the numbers will probably be different but it would be a 72161 for the 100 series and for your 80 series would be a 3510.

Your going to have to stick with OEM or other local brands for the fuel filters, if you want a Baldwin. Wix does have some though, the WIX 33526 for the 100 series and WIX 33563 for your 80 series. But frankly Toyota makes good fuel filters. If your in the Metro Manila area there is a WIX dealer it's posted on this thread but I don't know what page.

sa ebay taiwan ko nahanap sir. around 1800 pesos kuha ko kasama shipping. Greddy copy lang siya hehe was looking for brand-less/generic kaso ang hirap maghanap hehe dito naman sa atin, hirap maghanap ng may 15mm na fitting. pag smaller fitting kasi baka mag back pressure yung OCC, which will cause oil leaks. i have an extra set if you're interested hehe

a friend did a DIY oil catch can in his patrol. after a few weeks, leaks started to come out everywhere. they were able to trace the problem to the oil catch can. the fittings were smaller than the fittings in his valve cover. kaya there was back pressure.
after removing the DIY OCC, the leak stopped. kaya careful in installing OCC. should be a little smaller than stock lang. cant be too small.

One thing you check prior to installing one that you can blow through it with little to no effort then you should not have a problem.

And on your friends rig if it's the ZD30 engine he needed to live the little restrictor in place. (edit feature of forum does not appear to be working)

Anyways, here the piece. But if you can blow through your OIL catch can it should never cause a problem.

Doc i went to superior motors today and asked for a wix oil filter for my 4d56. They crossed my oem filter and what came up is 57092, which is different from what i found out online which is 51067. I just ordered because they dont have any stocks for any of those. I just told them to carefully check which will match my oem oil filter and make that order for me. They are going to let me know if its already available. I was just curious if both are the same maybe just the length is different

dvldoc, he has the TD42 engine (GQ patrol).

and yes, the OCC he made was DIY and it restricted the flow.

Wait, if this is the case, do you mean the Baldwin B2 I'm using right now is not the correct filter for me?

I usually get a 3 to 4 second oil light upon initial start up from cold and it's pretty much consistent irregardless if I use the factory filter, Vic, or Baldwin. This being the case I see that as kind of normal and would only worry if it was on longer than that.

Alright thanks! Please include also photos of your perforation sheets. What do you have in mind, make an adaptor and use two sets of hoses, 15mm and the smaller ones( splits of 4 hoses)? Or have the fittings be adjusted to 15mm so there will be two long hoses instead?

No you have the right filter, notice it says all 4cly gas engines. Diesels have a wide range of filters.
