guys, i am following this discussion here and in 4x4ph. According to Tony (an aknowledged expert from the UK), a US EPA accredited test will cost about $10,000. bt this will simulate all driving conditions, acceleration, braking, cruising, al in replicable sets for total control of the test...... this is what i added after this was said
"wow, the cost really SEEMS prohibitive.
but, as has been mentioned in another forum, they have sold over 15,000 units of Khaos, so in turn, that will only be an allotment of US$0.67 per unit sold or in pesos, only P37 pesos per unit sold. versus a selling price to distributors of P5,000 ( P1,500 profit each for distributors as according to freeman), that is only 0.75% of their selling price. now isn't that worth it, if they know it will prove that their product unquestionably works?
when you take a look at the numbers, it tells you the story.
andy"
for some more funny items:
GH, you might want to contact those "huge foreign companies" so that you can sell the "blueprints" of the gadget... :bwahaha:Filipino inventor dumps multi-million dollar US deal
MANILA --- Filipino inventor Pablo Planas has received numerous commendations from government officials and lawmakers for the patriotism he showed when huge foreign companies abroad offered to buy the exclusive rights of the gasoline-saving device he created.
Planas had turned down a multimillion-dollar package offered by a US-based company in exchange for buying the entire rights of his invention, the Khaos Super Turbo Charger (KSTC). He also turned down a migration ìtreatî for his family in exchange for the gadget’s blueprint.
hmmmm good idea! I might get those multi-millions and have enough money to retire. :DOriginally Posted by mazdamazda
Ghost Hunter :
KSTC Serial Nos. 7716 and 7717 were sold by Hot Wheels in E. Rodriguez. Q.C. Name of customers are Susan S_____ and Emerson S ______. According to the dealer they have not recieved a complaint, or refund claim from either of the 2. If your brother seriously wants a refund, you will have to first go to the dealer. Only then can I be of assistance.
Please confirm if this info supplied is accurate or not.
On another note. Yes. Samuel Cruz of Robotics & Mechatronics Industries. Impressive sounding company name eh? Were you part of the team that built the animatronic T-Rex for the defunct Water Fun park? I need to get in touch with him soonest. If you have his contact details please pass on to me. Wasn't Sam in a tv commercial recently?
Supermarket? Department Store? Now I know where that came from.....

pareng freeman, what do you think of my analysis that the principals behind Khaos should be able to afford the US EPA approved test being mentioned by Tony, given that the cost is only 0.75% of the selling price to distributors of the 15,000 units already sold? even if we double the cost, it is only 1.5% of their selling price of units already sold.
this controlled test will put an end to all the discussions. what do you think?
andy
great idea luckytruck! had they (IH) gone with the US EPA test / approval before agressively marketing their product. it would've certainly increased the product's value. let the product pass Extensive/Exhaustive Industry Tests, and Certifications ksi muna. nag-iba na ang requirements nang mga tao for the past 30years.

The pneumatic t-rex for the water park (water fun along south super hiway) was one of the projects being done as I was leaving RMI. Unfortunately I don't have his contact numbers with me anymore. You could drop him a visit though. The last known (to me) address of RMI was along Quirino Ave, right across Manila Zoo.
As for a tv commercial recently, I think I missed it. (I don't watch local programs as much as I used to)

Ghost - call the dealership first and explain that the devices were removed. Normally they will require that the device is still connected plus the standard test. But you can probably talk him out of that. Maybe you can avail of his refinishing services in exchange for taking back his KSTC.
Most company's offer a bit of resistance when they part with money, including refunds. Its never always a quick and simple procedure. Did anyone ever try collecting an insurance claim?
I watch the local late night network news. The TV ad was for a telecom company, and one of the actors looked like Mr. Cruz.

freeman, definitely, the burden of paying for the test should be on the manufacturer. it's not too late. they already sold a bunch of units, meaning they should have some cash handy, probably more than enough to fund a US EPA approved test.
maybe as a dealer, you can ask them when they plan to do so, and just tell them that you have lots of inquiries about the matter and pending orders that are just waiting for the test to be conducted
andy
sana this discussion will continue making progress...
salamat sa pagpasok sa discussion, sir luckytruck. :D
ito talaga si glenn, walang magawa
well, we al know that there is a approved US EPA test available, and based on their sales, the khaos manufacturers can afford it. now the ball is in ther court. will they subject their device to the all important test?
andy
Yup, I don't think cost is an issue anymore, if Planas is supposedly making a killing selling his device. But I don't think it is Inventionhaus that will decide; most likely, it is Pablo Planas himself who has the final say.
As the inventor of the KSTC, will Planas set his ego aside and agree to submit his device to the US EPA for the necessary tests?
