unfortunately my brother was taken by all the hype from the media blitz, etc without consulting me.

Benefits for me is I have two samples of the khaos device right on my desk, one to experiment with and the other as paperweight, the overhead fan blows the papers on the desk a bit too much.

Give me a minute to check the functions and I'll draw a diagram of the inner workings and post it here.

Here's my interpretation of the Khaos device:

The main by-pass control valve (located at the center of the device) should be closed (not let air thru it) for the spring-actuated valve to function.

Theoretically, the spring-actuated valve operates at vaccum pressures to let unmeasured (by the ecu) air into the engine. The engine's intake has enough vacuum pressure during non-WOT (non Wide Open Throttle) operation to open this. At WOT, there should not be enough vacuum pressure so this valve closes so that the engine should be at proper air-fuel ratio as set by it's EFI computer or carb settings.

In reality, the clearances for the spring valve and control valves are not that tight. This would result in more air getting into your engine's intake than should be.

(note: non-WOT intake vacuum pressure is generated by the suction of the engine and the closed or partially closed butterfly throttle valve)

    And just for reference:

    FRONT

    BACK

SPRING (for the spring actuated valve)

don't you guys think that if these people had some authentic favorable test results regarding this gadget they would have posted it already? and had it advertised in every major newspaper?

they could also double as exercise dumbbells, they are that heavy for its size.

My mistake for thinking it was made of aluminum. Its made of solid steel (later chrome plated for the shiny finish) and machined for the holes into it.

Ghost Hunter : Just wanted to test how observant you were. I have got the serial nos. I believe these were installed late last year. And I believe your brothers story now. Thank you. The drawing looks convincing. But could you take a photo of the unit completely dismantled? Why you ask? To answer the following :

    1. Mr. Planas claims that if the cap screws holding the "legs" are removed, the innards of the device will collapse and will be near impossible to re-assemble. It is allegedly designed as such to discourage would-be counterfieters. Personally that claim is a little incredible for me.

    2. My installers were instructed by IH never to adjust the 2 knobs they must all be fixed (white dot to white dot) at all times. That is another mystery to me?

Hopefully those photos will reveal some truths.

Now before you tamper it understand that a unit with signs of tampering may not be eligible for a refund. Management is reluctant to dismantle one from our own meager inventory. So keep one intact so I can help you with a refund of at least one. The other one, I fear, may be hopeless because of your photo and written documentation that imply tampering. Please fax or email the installation report and receipt to 727-7207/aarongfreeman*yahoo.com

Hey Ghost - you are wrong again - I CAN learn something here. So stop shooing me away it aint a waste of time after all.

M54 - Its open knowledge that I am a dealer. Have I ever said otherwise? If my purpose was to reverse the thinking here and to sell. I could have easily opened a new fictitious account with a fake identity. In fact it would have even been wiser to shun this thread. Like I said i have the most to lose.

Everyone : I don't mind being ganged up upon. Its familiar territory for a non-conformist. I am not intimidated (are you of me?). I am not looking for allies, I am searching for answers.

I don't need Otep's aid. I am thrice his size. (If you've seen Otep, that isn't saying much.) Hahahaha sorry doc, I could not resist that. Mercy!

Ok next issue. My own evaluation and testing. Tony sent me a procedure for actual consumption test. It made our evaluation look like dung. So spare me the embarassment of presenting it here, even though we recorded savings of more than 50%. The key is a controlled environment and numerous runs with and without the device - ideally a track. BRC Track - 25k a day! It will also be ideal to test it on various vehicles so it may take more than a day. Its too costly, I am not as wealthy as GH thinks I am. I strongly suggested to IH to do one (they've obviously got the resources), for the purpose of increasing sales and strengthening the brand. They said it was already in the works. But I'll take GH's advice - I wont hold my breath.

By the way - TO DATE THERE IS STILL NO CREDIBLE EVALUATION AND TEST ANYWHERE TO PROVE OR DISPROVE KHAOS.

So folks please reserve judgement. No one here bears the qualification, nor the proper evidence to say so or say not. So young man is that so hard to accept from an old-timer with a juvenile heart?

The resellers profit less than 1/4 of the retail price.

Be careful with your accusations with regards to the resellers!

Why not try the subic race track and do your tests there?

Please post the results of your test? What car? Kms run? Time of the day? Traffic condition? Fuel used? Route? etc.

note: I could not remove the knob in the middle because the locking screw holding it will not turn. But I would assume the knob looks like the one at the left side of the device. At any rate, I can see right thru the device, end to end, after removing the left knob and the filter assembly.

sub-note: After disassembly, I was kinda pleasantly surprised that nearly all my assumptions on its design was correct. I even suspected a spring connected to the left knob before I drew my sketch.

After dismantling the unit, I only needed a minute to reassemble it (in fact, its on my desk serving as a very good paperweight again). And the left bottom screw-bolt is indeed holding the left adjustment knob to the body.

IMHO, if counterfieters really want to copy the device, all they need to make one is any good machineshop, no specialized skills necessary after that.

    2. My installers were instructed by IH never to adjust the 2 knobs they must all be fixed (white dot to white dot) at all times. That is another mystery to me?
If both knobs must be white dot to white dot, then the spring actuated valve is totally unused. Basically in that setting, the device is in free-flow between the filter to the engine.

Hopefully those photos will reveal some truths.
So how does the device regulate 15:1 air-fuel ratio given the only thing left to regulate the amount of air thru it is the scrubbing pad filter?

I have been pretty much careful with my adjustable wrench and left no toolmarks on the device. Its as "clean" as it came off the vehicle. I doubt if they could detect anything wrong.

If you would open a ficticious account with a fake identity, you would be exposed by your third post. It has been done before and they were all exposed by the admins and mods.
