If both knobs must be white dot to white dot, then the spring actuated valve is totally unused. Basically in that setting, the device is in free-flow between the filter to the engine.

So how does the device regulate 15:1 air-fuel ratio given the only thing left to regulate the amount of air thru it is the scrubbing pad filter?

all those talk about 15:1 air-fuel ratio that can be regulated by a spring valve is all for naught? the KSTC people might have realized that the ECU is already doing that for them - and just to improve your fuel economy, HC & CO emmission (and to save face perhaps?) this is what they've done?

if it is so, then P6,500 is kinda pricey for a "filter" eh? and you could actually replicate the said effect by plugging in a K&N breather (P500 only) to the tube of your intake manifold (after the MAF sensor). or as i've said before, you can also just toggle your car's a/f valve for free!

lastly, "vacuum pressure" is self-contradictory.

I keep on using the term "vacuum pressure" meaning its negative pressure to directly differentiate from "pressure" which is usually positive pressure. This is to avoid confusion later on.

as for it being "self-contradictory", does that matter in our topic of discussion at all? (given that you understood that is being meant by my statements)

in addition i also said that: "manifold vacuum decreases pressure inside the unit, which causes air to be drawn in at speeds significant enough to create a partial vacuum between the left vertical and upper horizontal tube" which means that the higher the manifold vacuum, the more wind speed is produced which lessens pressure above the metal stopper and causes it to rise; although i had made it clear that this depends on strength of the the vacuum. ergo, more vacuum (idle), bigger volume of air, less manifold vacuum, lesser volume of air (part throttle), zero manifold vacuum (WOT), no extra air is supplied. just think: bigger engines generate more powerful vacuums.

So explain to us how the Khaos device keeps the A-F ratio at a steady 15:1 when the device is said to be open at high vacuum pressure (idle) and said to be closed at WOT (wide open throttle or gas pedal floored)? Also include how the same unit can do the said "regulation" for a 1.3L engine just as well as an engine with 5.0L displacement. Both engines will "suck" air at roughly the same vacuum pressures in normal operation (blocking the intake tube with your hand is not normal operation).

Planas supposedly named his device after Khaos, the Greek goddess of air. Makes sense somewhat, since it is an air-bleed device after all.

Assuming it was derived from that goddess. Isn't it politically correct to name it:

1. Khaos Air Sucker
2. Khaos Consume More Air
3. Khaos Sop Up Air
4. Khaos Air Insurgitate
5. Khaos Air Devourer

Anything mentioned above and not Turbo. If an airhead bought it for sheer impression that it will turbo his ride, well it did it's job--that is to suck more air from the heads of the consumers.

Maybe you can ask SM for use of the PEA Promenade. It doesn't have to be a track, as long as you can keep the variations in accelerator pedal use minimal...

Or several runs along Macapagal and EDSA extension probably wouldn't arise suspicion from the cops. A stopper under the accelerator pedal can be used to regulate it.

I doubt if that would be consistent enough to be considered scientific and controlled testing. Road traffic and stoplights would alter the results enough to become useless.

But the section of Macapagal Ave after Uniwide Coastal Mall up to the end might be enough for testing and that part has no stoplights and traffic is limited.

Late at night the stretch from Buendia to EDSA then right until the rotunda then back again will only have one traffic light and very few vehicles. He can have the rightmost lane to himself at least... Given the circumstances this is the closest we can get.
