i think yung bounciness na yan de naman maiiwasan e ... SUV kasi ! kahit naman rav4 at xtrail medyo bouncy rin at matagtag pa ! tsaka sa presyo naman ng fortuner you really cant compare it to the suspension and ride of much more expensive suvs like mga pajero land cruiser etc etc ..

My friends (owners of Pajero, Pickups, Trooper, other SUV, etc) who got to ride my Fortuner said the bouncy ride is normal for this kind of vehicle. I guess its just me, because I used to drive cars & carbase SUV.

Coil springs s'ya. The coils and the shock absorbers are a lot bigger than the ones in the Innova, though. The Fortuner has a higher ground clearance, eh. The Fortuner's ride is actually at par with the expensive body-on-ladderframe SUVS (Ford Explorer and Expedition included).

Like I said, if you come from owning a car or a compact SUV, you'll be more prone to distinguishing the difference in ride.

How does the supposed "bumpy" Fortuner compare if you are coming from notoriously bumpy or bouncy vehicles such as the L300 Versa Van and a locally assembled L300 Exceed (JDM: Delica)?

In my previous, I was asking about the function of the turbo timer and does using it mean no more waiting for the turbo to cool down? Thanks!

Coil spring din pala i thought na torsionbar ang front sus ng Fotuner like the Hi-Lux.

Where can we buy enhancement shocks for Fortuner and Innova?
Kasi im not happy wd the ride of Innova. I want to improve the ride of my Innova. Kung Torsion bar madali lang sana any auto supply shop im sure may shock ka na mabibili tulad sa pajero KYB lang ok na, Montero ride na.

Oops... I forgot to answer your question. Sorry...

A turbo timer is a device that delays the engine shut-off of your vehicle, even after you've turned the ignition off, depending on the settings you've programmed in and length of time you've driven with the engine's turbo engaged.

I'm told that the purpose is to allow the turbo air-chamber in turbo-diesels to cool down and prevent damage to the turbo.

The device actually leaves the engine running for some time, even after you've turned the ignition off, locked your vehicle and walked-away.

Wow! that's one device worth getting, as it can save time (fr. waiting for the engine to idle down) and the engine does not have to be left running therefore prevents exhaust fumes from getting into your house.

Actually, it does keep the engine running... Exhaust fumes can still get into your house. The turbo timer will keep the engine running for a few minutes (until such time that your turbo cools down) after you turn the ignition off. No need to stay in the SUV, especially if you're in a hurry.
