*patron.. sir how's the power of 2.5G? i reserved a unit at toyota davao, bka by december daw released. how you driven an everest or strada? almost the same ba ang power nila?

my ride right now is a crosswind, so i'm expecting na mas powerful 2ng fortuner 2.5 than the crosswind kahit na mas mabigat sya.

*tocloy...first, the 2.5G D4D has only a meager 102 Hp and 200 Nm of torque. I have never driven an Everest, but its only a few horses more than that of the Fortuner's, so it's a pretty close compa. I can't also give u a compa with Strada nor with Crosswind. I previously own an '03 RAV4, so i dont have a point of accurate comparison. The best i can tell u is it's a little bit heavy on the launch but when the turbo starts kicking in, the powerstroke starts to get more linear. But bear in mind that mere numbers doesn't reflect the overall driving dynamics of a vehicle. It also depends on your application, saan mo ba siya gagamitin, highway, city driving, off-road, or mixed. For me, i'm on 90% city drive mode, very rare to go off-roading, kaya the 2.5G is just adequate for my requirements.

Kindly browse throught the posts on this thread. There are plenty of owner's feedback with regards to your question, especially on the first ones. My apologies for not enlightening you that much. Good luck and i hope u get your ride soon.. whichever variant u prefer. Drive safely!

I have a feeling that dealers might make the upgraded horn an issue when you make a warranty claim on your electricals. There's one thing I forgot to mention, eh... The stock fuse for the horn in the Fortuner is 10 Amps. You'll need to replace it with a 20 Amp fuse for the new horn to work. Warranty officers will tend to look at this upgrade as a reason to void the warranty on the electrical system. But, if your electrical warranty claims are not related to the horn, you can always challenge the warranty officer's decision.

sir vic, thanks again for the info. I, and probably most of the 4tuner owners, very well appreciate you sharing your ride's upgrades. Your ride is actually becoming a benchmark for other 4tuner owners, in terms of upgrade. Actually, magpapakabit din ako ng Stebel, still choosing between the Magnum and Nautilus, pero mas maganda yung Nautilus (mas mahal kasi hehehe). Basta i won't stick to the rubber ducky-squeak of the OEM horn, para talagang traysi. Keep on updating us. 'Hirap ba maging test-bed?

sir mazda2, a difficult but very wise decision, indeed. There are certainly more choices to come next year.. '06 RAV4 is very tempting, so as the '06 Pathfinder....

Maybe one of the reasons: Reported by El Chicane yesterday on "Let's Boycott Toyota Fortuner" thread

Update ko lang kayo on this on-going Fortuner racket.

Here are some more facts coming directly from a Toyota Dealer employee na nakausap ko nung isang araw lang:

    1) There is NO such thing as a "pila" or "number system" when you order a Fortuner. The dealer merely gives you a number as a psychological ploy to ease your mind.

    2) Ang internal policy nila is to WAIT FOR INSTALLMENT BUYERS until next year, dahil marami pa ring umo-order ng installment basis (in other words: In-House Financing).

    p.s.

According to a recent post in the "Toyota D4D engine woes" thread, even the 3.0l Fortuner V is also affected with the fuel pump defect.

The fact is may racket nga ang Toyota sa Fortuner.

Tsaka kaasar din yung "Toyota Otis" na sticker sa likod, gusto ko din tanggalin, what's an easy way of removing those kinds of stickers? Hot water? Thanks!

I just read it nga... Pero 2nd hand info lang, eh... Please ask the actual owner to post his problem para 1st had info at para malaman natin history of usage. Same thing as when larshell posted the problems with his Innova.

Knowing the usage history will help us determine what triggers the problem.

shampoo with very sharp blade will take care of it. just dont slice through the sticker or else you will scratch glass surface.

Yup! Once you get your plates, you can peel the conduction stickers off. I had no trouble peeling off my stickers. Bagong dikit pa naman yan. You can easily peel it off by hand. Just have some cotton and 70% Isopropyl alcohol handy to clean off any sticky leftovers.

Yes, you can remove your conduction stickers once you've got your plates. It can be easily removed by peeling it off slowly starting from the corners. You can use old credit cards instead of your nails. Remaining residues can be removed easily with small amount of kerosene.
