guys, i would suggest you try the zymol cleaner wax. it comes with a detailing liquid to "close" after waxing. ang maganda pa dito, water-based yung wax kya di sya messy. i bought mine at the local D.I.Y. store. my unit is a dark gray mica metallic and na lessen ang pagwa-washing ko after i used it. feather duster na lang. i was using the 3m hand glaze, which imo, has a better shine kya lang medyo labor intensive. the detailing liquid of the zymol can remove light scratches, light water marks and tar. cost is around P300 for the wax and detail.

I wont be able to go to berts or any shop until the weekend, how do I clean up the dust and rainwater marks? Its a black unit kaya hesitant ako. All I have in my house is 16 pcs of microfiber (pricesmart PhP57/pc lumalabas, pack of 16).

Product and tool suggestions? Wala lang time to scroll down detailing thread. Kumakapal na dumi sa unit! : )
There's a thread on how to care for black vehicles... I suggest you search for it. There are lotsuv advice there.

*retinasurgeon.. im still waiting for my plates, too. ending-8. Some of the guys are luckier.

*hector angel..thanks for the tip. I did that routine (except fo the materials) in my previous ride, a RAV4. kaya lang para akong tinatamad sa Fortuner, ang laki at ang taas kasi. But i dont have any choice, got to do some TLC on this car, too.

*patron...sorry to hear that you're still waiting for your plates. I'm working in the auto industry for quite some time now and based from personal experiences, the number you chose is a number that a lot of customers would like to get. As far as i could recall, LTO prints plates in batches and if ever all the plates ending in 7,8 or any other number runs out, they will have to exhaust the other remaining plates in that batch before they print out new batches. I think thats causing the delay. 1,2,7,8 are the plates easily exhausted based from experience also. Aside from 7 & 8 being feng shui numbers, nobody wants their vehicle subjected to coding during the last day of the week. I wanted 7 or 8 for our Fortuner but we got 0 instead

Haaay. Ok lang, 2 ang ending ko. Good thing that LTO now gives 3 years registration for new vehicles

*allenjo...thanks 4 d info. I think my impatience is a bit "subjective", kasi 2 years ago, i got my 8-ending plate for my previous ride w/in 2 weeks. I was expecting the same ngayon. I might just as well wait for it na lang..

    OT:

In lieu of postings related to plate numbers, let me share my experience from about six years ago. It took Honda Makati FOUR months to deliver our plate (ending 8). At that time, we didnt care since even year old cars sporting no plates (but with conduction stickers) can still traverse the streets of Manila. But today it is a completely different story.

peeps, went to toyota bel air this pm, bad trip talaga. after 4 months of waiting, the agent told me that they have a new policy that if ever it's your turn sa pila, you should get the unit with kelseats. php 65k daw. pinakita nga sa akin yung mga units for release with leather seats. nakakainis! sumali na sila sa kelseat bandwagon!

Ibang klase talaga...pipigain ka ng husto. Kung tutuusin nga, that should've been a standard feature, like in the Thai market. Toyota Phils stripped-off all the standard goodies (immobilizer, leathers, rear disc breaks, remote control in steering wheel, etc) para kumita sila beyond its sticker price. Im a little bit lucky kasi di ko na kinagat yung DVD. Leathers lang ang pinalagay ko, that's all.

The impact of EVAT will increase the Fortuner's price by 6% to 8%. Kindly verify the rate.

This "additional cost" may lessen Fortuner's attractiveness to those who are in line and for those who wanted to be in line. Very fortunate are those who already have their units!

*beebs...demand to talk to their GM at the dealer...let hell break loose. Sometimes we just have to assert ourselves to avoid being taken advantage off. demand to see that policy (if ever meron, pero usually sales talk lang yan for more commissions of the agent) kung meron man talaga, check kung may retroactive clause siya.

Yup, pero as much as possible, ayokong maglagay ng "doctor on call" na sign, unless na totoo. I want to set an example kasi.
:car: Yipee, I can use my new ride na!! I didn't use it until I got the plates kasi eh.

*beebs: Toyota Makati (Bel Air) is owned by the TMPC plant. They shouldn't be doing that to you. Try to talk to the dealership GM. Matagal na reservation mo eh.

    On a lighter note...

Just had my scratched-up bumper painted at the dealer.

I also asked to have the back-up sensors painted, after seeing the body color back-up sensors of a Previa.

Nice paint job! Okay din yung "colored" sensors. Yung wall, hindi mo na pininturahan?
