Yup! If you ask me, the best review of any vehicle would come from an actual owner.Originally Posted by michael_pmc

There was nothing in that review that we really haven't known before. Kahit yung mga owner reviews iba-iba rin naman. Some claim na matagtag yung Fortuner, pero if you try it out ok naman.
I'm still betting that cash buyers (no deals) will get their units by July 2006.
That's what make owner reviews great. They tell it the way they feel it... Former car owners will tend to say it's matagtag. Former SUV owners will tend to say it rides ok.Originally Posted by BoyFerrari
The article for me, somehow sounds like a propaganda thing (paid advertisement)...
At this point do they still need to do this...
actually almost all articles that are read in the newspaper about this car or that, is usually biased naman eh. they dont point out the negative things, of course. when they do print something that will put their product in the dark, they will immediately call up the editor and demand a retraction.
Actually, I have yet to read anything negative about the Fortuner from published medias. Most of the stuf I have read so far range from the Topgear and C! august 2005 issues, to fluffy press-release-kit-like "reviews" from major daily newspapers and some even managed to reach a verdict without even actually test driving the vehicle.
Anyhow, its been almost six months since the Fortuner's release and quite a number of tsikoteers are have taken delivery of their units already, so let me take this oppurtunity to ask all owners to verify the findings of mbt, mazdamazda, and et al during their initial test drive last May of Fortuner test units.

I agree to the observations of mazda2. You will not experience a zippy and highly spirited drive on the Fortuner. Actually, i felt like a "grandpa" driving my Fortuner, hehehe. My wife even blurted out "para naman itong pang-lolo, walang ka-challenge-challenge!" We got used to our '03 RAV4 (which we developed a certain kind of fondness). The steering is what i've noticed most, talagang mabagal ang response. The front wheels wont point to where u want to in real-time, very noticeable yung delay. But then maybe i just got so much used to our RAV's handling.
kudos to sir attynorby for squeezing out that much from his 2.5 D4D engine.![]()
I just go with the traffic flow, considering road safety. I am usually out on the road so I really do not bother or am being conscious with the "ideal speed" just to conserve fuel consumption. I just set my TRIP B to "0" when I top up, always in the evening on the way home, then top up my fuel two or three days after, also in the evening on the way home. The only variables that I control (and practically controllable) are the time of fueling and the gas station (same fuel pump, if possible). Also, FYI.Originally Posted by zechs

The CD-IB100 maybe compatible with the iPod Nano, and probably also with the new iPod Video. You can also check out www.pioneerelectronics.com. I don't know if flash based drives are compatible with the iPod interfaces for the different HU's, but as for the older ones, 3rd and 4thG, which are harddrive based. no problem whatsoever.
long distance driving from manila to province clock me * 12.5km per liter normal speed at 80 to 100.

Wow! Ganda siguro drving habits mo. I have yet to breach 9km/li on my 3.0V. I'm not too wary with my habits kasi, eh... I should try not to exceed 100kph pala and just coast along 'til I slow down to 80kph, before stepping on the gas again. I'll see how my consumption will change...Originally Posted by katsudon_ph

Of course, this is assuming if the vehicle is driven in the highways where such speeds can be attained.
vicoyski,
ilan na ba ang odo reading mo? mine dati ganyan din ang consumption and actually manila traffic was able to squeeze close to 7km per liter.
