i think yung bounciness na yan de naman maiiwasan e ... SUV kasi ! kahit naman rav4 at xtrail medyo bouncy rin at matagtag pa ! tsaka sa presyo naman ng fortuner you really cant compare it to the suspension and ride of much more expensive suvs like mga pajero land cruiser etc etc ..

My friends (owners of Pajero, Pickups, Trooper, other SUV, etc) who got to ride my Fortuner said the bouncy ride is normal for this kind of vehicle. I guess its just me, because I used to drive cars & carbase SUV.

Coil springs s'ya. The coils and the shock absorbers are a lot bigger than the ones in the Innova, though. The Fortuner has a higher ground clearance, eh. The Fortuner's ride is actually at par with the expensive body-on-ladderframe SUVS (Ford Explorer and Expedition included).

Like I said, if you come from owning a car or a compact SUV, you'll be more prone to distinguishing the difference in ride.

How does the supposed "bumpy" Fortuner compare if you are coming from notoriously bumpy or bouncy vehicles such as the L300 Versa Van and a locally assembled L300 Exceed (JDM: Delica)?

In my previous, I was asking about the function of the turbo timer and does using it mean no more waiting for the turbo to cool down? Thanks!

Coil spring din pala i thought na torsionbar ang front sus ng Fotuner like the Hi-Lux.

Where can we buy enhancement shocks for Fortuner and Innova?
Kasi im not happy wd the ride of Innova. I want to improve the ride of my Innova. Kung Torsion bar madali lang sana any auto supply shop im sure may shock ka na mabibili tulad sa pajero KYB lang ok na, Montero ride na.

Oops... I forgot to answer your question. Sorry...

A turbo timer is a device that delays the engine shut-off of your vehicle, even after you've turned the ignition off, depending on the settings you've programmed in and length of time you've driven with the engine's turbo engaged.

I'm told that the purpose is to allow the turbo air-chamber in turbo-diesels to cool down and prevent damage to the turbo.

The device actually leaves the engine running for some time, even after you've turned the ignition off, locked your vehicle and walked-away.

Wow! that's one device worth getting, as it can save time (fr. waiting for the engine to idle down) and the engine does not have to be left running therefore prevents exhaust fumes from getting into your house.

Actually, it does keep the engine running... Exhaust fumes can still get into your house. The turbo timer will keep the engine running for a few minutes (until such time that your turbo cools down) after you turn the ignition off. No need to stay in the SUV, especially if you're in a hurry.

for sure turbo timer will help keep your turbo in tip top condition specially kung walang intercooler. kasi 1 time my pajero parang na welding yung impeller ng turbo its a 2000 model field master. 4m40 buti nalang may 4m40 na avilable sa banawe and the guy was so good pumayag sya trade in turbo ko and kinuha ko yung sa kanya i just paid 10k that was 2004 i think its ok after fixing it i sold my pajero

    from Bangkok post motoring:
    FORTUNER ON THE RADAR

Mitsubishi is planning to build a sport-utility vehicle based on the Triton pickup (as pictured) to rival Toyota's hot-selling Fortuner.

The current Strada-based G-Wagon is a generation behind the Fortuner and was conceived to take on Toyota's previous Sport Rider.

Like the Fortuner, the new G-Wagon _ whose new name could not be confirmed yet _ will take advantage of PPV (pickup passenger vehicles) rules to attract the privileged 20% excise tax for competitive prices under 1.3 million baht.

The next G-Wagon will use the new 3.2-litre engine and could get a five-speed automatic gearbox should Mitsubishi want an edge over its competition.

Like in the Fortuner, the new G-Wagon is expected to have more compact dimensions than before and a rear coil spring suspension in place of the compromising leaf spring set-up.

Whether Mitsubishi chooses to equip its new SUV with full-time 4x4 remains to be seen. The current G-Wagon uses a switchable rear/four-wheel drive format.

"What's for sure is that the new PPV will be just as stylish as the Triton. Looks are important in 4x4s," said one insider, adding that the public should get a first glimpse of it at the Bangkok Motor Show in March next year.

Initial suggestions that the new G-Wagon and current Pajero be merged into single model have now been ruled out, even though they may share the same engine or basic body dimensions.

Instead, the next-generation Pajero will be shoved upmarket to create some distance from the new G-Wagon. The Pajero will remain as Mitsubishi's iconic flagship SUV.

Toyota used the same strategy before it launched the Fortuner.

Toyota made the Land Cruiser Prado more upscale than ever with higher cabin quality, refinement, standard equipment and performance
