So far, all variants of Fortuner in the Philippines (2.7G vvti, 2.5G D-4D, 3.0V D-4D) are only available with the automatic transmission.

The most powerful vehicle that I have ever test driven is the 4.6L Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. If 10 ang rating ng feel of power ng Explorer, I'd say the Fortuner feels like a 7 or 8 (LC Prado feels like a 6 or 7, eh). The 3.0V is above average, but it's not the best. Kaya lang, when you consider the cost compared to the LC Prado, value for money ang 3.0V Fortuner.

What sucks about diesel engines lang is the time needed to reach an optimum temperature to get better performance. 'Di mo s'ya pwede ihataw kagad from a cold start. Kaya, 'di s'ya bagay for emergency runs.

What is the 0-60mph(or kph) timing of the fortuner?

Ford says V6 Explorers and Mountaineers do 0-60mph in 10.2 sec. Reading around the web for test reviews you'll get 9-10sec for 0-60 of the 4li v6 explorer.

I just talked to our dealer sa Toyota, natatagalan daw yung plate kasi inuubos daw ng LTO yung plates starting with 'X'. He asked me if ok lang daw sa akin na 'X' na lang din start nung plates ko. As far as i know, the new plates start with the letter 'Z' na d ba? Would there be any problems if I accepted the dealer's offer to get a plate with 'X' as the first letter?

60mph is nearly equivalent to 100kph...

    Fortuner 3.0V - 0 to 100 kph - 13.4 secs
    Fortuner 2.7G - 0 to 100 kph - 9.68 secs

I think the figures above come from C! Magazine... I dunno lang if the 3.0V came from a cold start. But, at 13.4 seconds, I'm guessing it's been idling at optimum temperature.

No problem if you get the "X" plate.

As far as I know, ubos na ang "X" plates; ang mga natira na lang ay yung mga inipit nila because it has some good combination of letters/numbers that they hoped to sell (sideline) at a premium. Kaya lang hindi "updated" ang ride mo if you get it.

I hope this (somewhat) answers your question usokpower Very respectable figures in my book. The dmax is in the low 15 to high 16's

Ah ganun ba? e d malamang papadagdagan pa yung bayad nun kung nagkataon, if they are indeed selling it at a premium. Grabe na talaga mga racket ngayon! Kahit sa dealer, we also bought 60K worth of accessories (kelseat) just to get our Fortuner immediately!!! Haaay...

The Mags and HID are over priced... But, the Kelseat leather is a bargain... I've hear someone say na P85K na daw ang full leather seats by Kelseat. Increase courtesy of eVAT daw! Ganon ba talaga yun?

Thats fine for a diesel A/T. Other diesel fed A/T vehicles that ive driven like ung pregio...

Yep, thats why in the U.S. bawal ang diesel engine for emergency service vehicles.

honestly, im feeling ripped off right now ... my deal with them is 30%dp/24mos + 200k worth of accessories although i could pay in lump in the first month amort. BUT she couldnt commit na makukuha ko unit within 2 months.

i will be calling my SA tomorrow & give her a big fcuk on her face. ill tell her na magcash nlang ako & just get the kelseat & HiD ... and just wait however long it would take.... im starting to think na wala naman talagang mahabang pila

mrvicz, mahal yung HiD at 40K..unless philips brand yan. usual brands like xenon-bulbs, genki or prizm go around less than 30K eh...

kurosaki_ichigo, pag "X" yung start ng plate mo, no problem naman..pero magkakaroon ng notion ang ibang tao na hindi na bago fortuner mo...hehehe since halos lahat ng nakikita kong fortuners is "Z" na ang start ng plate nila...
