I have a reservation kasi for the 4x2 diesel (white). Hopefully by September to October ko daw makukuha according to my mom's friend sa Toyota Balintawak.
News is, that the 4x2 D4D variant will have the 2.5L Turbo (no intercooler) D4D engine, same as the Toyota Innova's. Furthermore, it is yet unclear if it will be A/T or M/T.

If that's the case, then that's going to be a bitch. We have an Innova, and all I can say is that it is too underpowered! This is bad since I'm used to driving a CR-V which has 150 HP as opposed to 102 HP!

Anyways, if I modify the engine and add an intercooler to the 2.5 engine, around how much HP would that add?

Roughly 10% more HP - that makes it a measly 112 PS. I was thinking of installing an IC (surplus Ranger or Pajero IC) to my Innova (thus voiding the warranty) only if I can figure out where to course the plumbing. Add on a CAI and check for an ECU chip upgrade then . . . we can get somewhere around 130 PS (guesstimate) . . . not bad, but a lot of work.

Bumped into this - Carryboy accessories for the Fortuner. Check this link :

check out the different front nudge guards available.

Had my 1st 1,000 km check. Cost came to 1,276.00 PhP. Used ordinary oil for now but will change to Mobil One synthetic on my 5,000 km check.

Also asked for the new August price list. Fortuner has the highest increase at 35k (1.233m for G and 1.533m for V) . Next were the Prado at 30k, Camry and Hi-lux at 20k, Rav4, Altis and 1.3E Vios at 10k, and all other Vios at 5k. The Innova, Previa, Hi-ace have no price increase.

The price increases have been confirmed for August 1, 2005. I've heard from a little birdie that the unofficial reason given for the increase is to protect the sales of the Innova. Apparently, the price gap between the high-end Innova and the 2.7G Fortuner is so small that people are shifting to the latter, cancelling prior reservations, resulting in increased inventories for the Innova...

What I dunno is what they'll add-on to the August-onwards Fortuner variants to justify the P35K increase... In all likelihood, the units for release by August will be bundled with modest dealer option freebies...

Question: Do you guys think Toyota will actually introduce the 4x2 diesel variant with just 102 HP? Hindi naman kaya masisira sila because of this?

SANA NAMAN THEY'LL JUST STICK WITH THE 3.0!

dont worry, hindi naman masisira toyota even if they released a 4x2 2.5 diesel, the 102HP can reach 140kph, hindi ko alam max speed..

nag release na sila ng underpowered liteace and revo, so sa tingin ko eh this is not a big deal, basta toyota, bumebenta mwehehe

Just want to ask if you have tried matching the Innova with your CRV on the NLEX??...

Well for me I have done so and I can tell you the Innova isn't that Underpowered for my experience...

    Hi Fortuner fans,

Got my ride today, SuperWhite II 3V Diesel.

Indeed the price goes up by P35K on Aug.1, Monday.

Question ??? to fellow Fortuner owners, on ordinary city driving, whats the setting on your Four wheel drive controller - H,HL, or LL? Book says H, yours?

Also, what and where do you go for fuel (diesel) or are they all the same (Shell, Caltex, Petron, etc.)?

    Thanks.

    Forza

For ordinary city driving, it would be more economical to have the 4x4 set at H. HL is good for speed drives through slippery rain-drenched hardtops. LL is good for mudtracks and driving in off-road conditions.

Also, what and where do you go for fuel (diesel) or are they all the same (Shell, Caltex, Petron, etc.)? I prefer using Shell's Diesel. But, that's because I use my Shell Citibank MC to get fuel rebates.

Just called up A-toy. It's P9,500 for the upper grill (body-colored) and an additional P3,500 for the lower grill on the bumper. I'll drop by tomorrow to see kung maganda ang quality. ;-)

Sana they have the upper grille available with chrome edges. Para bagay pa rin sa sideview mirrors and doorhandles...
