So you mean taboo right bro? I may be a new member but I've been lurking around the forum for quite a long time now. I've also read the forum rules as I should since I moderate another Filipino site/forum as well but I did not see that the use of the word investment is frowned upon or could be a subject for disciplinary action (if that's what you meant by not using it).

Anyway, let me go back to the topic and stick to the purpose of the thread - I hope Suzuki owners will find some of their valuable time to address the question on post #1136

Thanks for clarifying things up MR_BIG18

    Merriam-Webster defines investment as:
    1. the outlay of money usually for income or profit : capital outlay;
    2. the sum invested or the property purchased

    i don't suzuki, but...

if you mean, re-sale value... it's not suzuki. it's probably, argueably, a toyota. and not necessarily a rush, either.

if you mean value-for-money... i wouldn't know. value for money is usually a combination of objective and subjective. and i can not speak for your subjectives.

consider.. when the new vitara was introduced in the last part of 2017, folks "liked what they saw" and sought to be the first kid on the block to own one. but now, there are other new-also choices. xpander.. rush.. kona..

kona, xpander and rush are new in the local market. guessing which will be "the better investment" now, is... just guessing.

sunroof? in our climate? it's a useless and potentially headache-y accessory, if you ask me.

    and yes,
only sales agents will say "invest in a car". owning a car is almost always a (money-) losing proposition. but that's topic for another thread.

i guess people get irritated when you refer to cars as investments coz they always lose money on them i.e. you're hitting a nerve...

    so.... just.... don't

Sorry but when a member with 14,768 posts says not to use it, one would wonder why. (I even tried to re-read our rules to check if I violated something) - and that is not stating an opinion but suggesting that it is not allowed. I hope we need not go into semantics further as you have made your point and I have made mine. Now that the confusion has been addressed and cleared, with all due respect, let us stick to the discussion of the Vitara, thank you.

If I were to give an advise to another member I'd probably say please try to avoid using (insert word) because (insert reason) instead of saying or giving an order like DON'T. But I really wouldn't do it in the first place as this is a venue to talk about cars and not about grammar or proper word usage. I respect your opinion and your point of view so please respect mine.

    Thank you for your input

Your opinion and suggestion is very much welcome in so far as value for money is concerned, with both the objective and subjective arguments combined. I also do not like the sun roof as stated on my query on post #1132

I was also asking those people with actual experience with the car or those mentioned like the BRV, Kona, Xpander and the Rush if the Vitara is worth the money (budget at 1.1M) or the other cars mentioned are better, over all. Thanks

Thank you sir. I have seen all available videos on Youtu** which is why I wondered if the sun roof would be an issue. I would have liked the GLX better without it. It's just that if I purchase the GL+ to do away with the sun roof, I think I'm losing a lot of features for the low price difference of 110K.

    Thanks as well StockEngine

I had a good opportunity to pass time reading everything as I wait for "sleep" to visit me.

If we are to be so formal and serious, this forum will be a boring one to visit. Of course, we are not suppose to make comments that are truly "out of this world topics" like making something similar to what I've heard in Facebook. A picture here and a picture there then make a diary, here and there and everywhere! Annoying Facebook... or perhaps I just don't know how to use Facebook.
    😊

I'm off topic again! So as to make myself relevant, let me answer that part about the sunroof. I asked about this and the only answer I got is "useless". To justify that sunroof, I open it whenever I want the heat to escape faster as the car cools down. Do I want a sunroof? Yes, because I find it good to look at. Let us just hope that no stone will ever hit and brake it (I mean break).

Welcome! Most guys here, if not all, are nice and accommodating.

One of the main reasons I purchased the GL+ instead of the GLX is because I didn't want a sunroof. I'm happy with what I got.

The only thing I feel I lost out on are the extra airbags. It's not something you want to have to actually use, but it would've been great to have that with the GL+.

The sunroof is a hit or miss thing. Some people like it and some don't. I personally don't like it since it may introduce some "leaks" or "vibrations" in the future. But my knowledge is very limited since I got feedbacks only from some friends way back.

Re: sun roofs, if you live in the countryside where smoke belching jeeps and trucks are a rarity, I can imagine the appeal. But if it stays closed most of the time, not worth it. Just robs headroom and heats up the cabin.

I use the sunroof to let me feel the warmth of the sun's rays once in a while. I keep it closed though within Metro Manila.

It is nice on overcast days when the sun isn't so hot. But in Metro Manila the only time I open it is if the baby poops or someone farts.

Vehicles are not investments ... Unless they are exotic cars that appreciate in value because of rarity ...

Maraming salamat po sir for a very valuable input. Can you give us more feedbacks on your unit sir? Pros and cons, perhaps, if you have spare time. God bless.
