baka masyado matigas gulong mo. Is yours the NA version? Mine is an XT and bigger rims than the NA, but the ride is comfortable enough. Put tire pressure at 30psi

Your tires may be inflated to 40 psi. Mine were when I got them from MI. I let the air out and settled on 30 psi front and 32 psi rear.

that's usually the case for the 5 new cars in the past that we get from the any dealerships, kaya since then, everytym we get a new car, i also bring a tire pressure gauge and deflate it before getting out of the casa

wrong assumption ako nga, i specifically told my agent to set the tire pressure to 32 (having read all the stories na 40-45psi usually upon release). And yet, it was still at 40 when I got it. be sure to check once you get the chance.

Just a reminder, request your dealer to make a home made plate number per MMDA requirement.

The LTO's taking their sweet time to release the new plates. >_<

Here's my ride and my improvised plate
Bought an acrylic plate cover, iv made a layout with the exact size of a real plate, printed it on a sticker, and stick it on a sintra board, and here's the result

Ulysses of Carguide did a review of the Forester XT and he got these fuel figures during his 4-day test:

8.2 km/L in the city and 13.2 km/L on the highway

^Just shift down to "D" then push the shifter to the left. Then drive as you would a manual, except there's no clutch. At the center of your instrument panel is an indicator that shows you what "gear" you're in and it even hints at the most efficient shift points. If I remember correctly, it'll still shift down for you automatically as you slow down, but you can still downshift anytime to initiate an engine brake. Note that the "gears" are simply pre-programmed settings for the CVT that simulate a more traditional geared transmission.

i don't know how uly tested it, but im now on my 2,500kms and i'v recorded all my fill ups. my city driving based on trip computer is 6 to 6.25 km/L, mano mano 5.5 to 6km/L. combine it with hiway, trip computer is 7 to 7.5 km/L, mano mano is 6.5 to 7 km/L. on purely hiway crusing, on the whole stretch of slex, probably 50kms of freeway, i was able to get 11.11 km/L via trip computer.

im more inclined to trust the combined city and hiway figure, coz its the "real" world scenario of our roads here, especially in the province.

i hope some new owners of XT who lives and drives in the province can verify their FC with mine

I don't really know sir maybe he's looking at the real-time FC during city and highway and not the end of run one combined for both? I remember his test run to Sagada also yielded pretty good FC numbers. Or maybe he just has a really light foot

I remember Uly posting in detail somewhere how he manually computes for it. IIRC, usual record odo, fill to full, drive, record odo, fill to full again method. I'm sure his numbers are accurate, but he simply doesn't have the review car long enough to really get the real-world numbers. And he probably takes it around at odd hours and wide-open roads.

With enough short trips here and there, stoplights, and typical Philippine erratic traffic, fuel economy really goes to hell, especially for a 2.0L-turbo.
