On the XT the backing sensor is the rear video camera that has a LCD display on the dash.

Does our XT have a immobilizer or car alarm? If so how do you activate it?

    Hi 8BRZWRX,

I'm in the deciding to buy stage yet. planning to get the i-L.
talking with my SA she said that she will try to include the backing sensor in the freebies.
but shes not yet committing 100%
leaves me wondering what are the actual freebies....

If you are getting a 2.5L be aware that the annual renewal fee with LTO is higher than a smaller displacement engine. FYI lang. ;)

Sir may 2.5L na ba locally? ang alam ko lang is the 2.0i and the 2.0XT.

Also, yes the car has immobilizer, meaning if you use a duplicate key lang, it won't start. You need to use the actual key given by the dealer, since I think naka program yung key sa car mo. As for alarm, I am not sure.

    *forester

the freebie na binibigay lang sakin ng Subaru Alabang and Subaru Greenhills is free tint and floor mats. I think yun lang din nakuha ni sir Cfule. Ayaw na nila magbigay ng iba since bago pa yung car. So I'm not sure if totoong ibibigay sayo ng agent mo yung backing sensor since marami pa bumibili ng Forester.

No sir local Forester comes in 2 specs lang, 2.0i-L (150hp) and 2.0XT (240hp turbo). The 2.5L variant is being offered in other countries though.

The forester turbo xt doesnt 'feel' as fast as the previous gen forester turbo. Even in sport # mode. I flogged it a couple of times (to the point that my brakes were smoking at the end of my drive) and it doesnt give the same 'kick' as the older one. Of course its more fuel efficient and has lots of nice tech as well as those paddle shifters. But i cant help but feel that the CVT robbed it of some of its fun and aggressive character. 1st gear (virtual gears)on sport # feels a little sluggish off the line. Maybe its also because its a 2.0 liter and since it is off boost it doesnt have the torque of the older 2.5 from low rpms.

I do like though that the paddles react quickly and there are a fairly lot of gears to click thru.

I still have to figure out though how to configure the multi information screen. Im thinking of having the range to empty, liters per 100km and maybe the psi boost gauge as my indicators. That info button and configuration menu is going to cause an accident one day hehe. Should have put a rotary dial commander instead.

I think sir it has something to do with the CVT, which doesn't give you the kick feeling when accelerating and gives the impression that it is slowly accelerating. Based from what I read, CVTs can generally out-accelerate traditional automatics, but can give the impression that it is actually slower.

It can also be because the engine Subaru brought here is the 237hp version, which only has a 0-100kph rating of 7.5 seconds. The engine in other countries are stronger at 250hp (6.2seconds) and 276hp (somewhere 5-6sec) and their torques have a wider rpm range compared to ours.

Lastly, it can also be the fuel used here in the country.

The MID display is one of the reasons I got the Forester XT, love the info provided

The 3rd gen Forester that I have has more of a kick than the 4th gen. To frame my comment correctly the 4th gen has a more smoother power band while the 3rd gen gets a power bump.

I get turbo lag in the 3rd gen while it is largely absent in the 4th gen. Havent used sports sharp mode just the default setting.

I think the XT we got here was detuned to accept 95 RON rather than the USDM's 98 RON.

Time to see if speedlabs can do something about the detuned engine hehe. Yeah that 270hp version rocks big time. Kinda sad ours is 'only' 240hp. I know its fast... it just doesn't feel it. My diesel trailblazer 'feels' faster ( cause of the torque which really sends you back into your seat) even though it isn't LOL.

Other than that its a great car. I think I will have it tuned and maybe change the headunit and then it would be perfect as a daily driver. The paddle shifters make me happy. And am glad for the 8 virtual gears in sport #.

Got stuck in traffic today. From the Fort all the way to Ayala. Some crazy traffic today.... nuts. Anyway, was using the Forester. Its grown on me. I love its manners in the City. And if I know how to keep it on the 'boil' using the paddle shifters, I can get enough oooomph when I need to. The sound system sounds great even though it looks a little bit basic. But it has all the features you will ever need. I was using Bluetooth streaming.

I like the parking light DRL. Porma.

Seems, the gas gauge has the same problem as my Subaru Legacy. I loaded P500 bucks and it didn't register on the digital meter. Even the range to empty didn't change. Seems the car has to be OFF for a bit or you have to load a significant amount of gas for the indicator to move. Its the exact same problem I have with my Legacy.

Sir what was the FC you got during traffic this morning?

Also, is the parking lights on always during the day or you have to manually turn it on pa? Thanks

Sir configure your multi information display when in the parking, me mga menu na pag nakatigil ang car mo tsaka lumalabas hehe.

Went to manila last weekend to attend a wedding and drove in Sport mode from the province (133kms), then drove back to the province in Sport sharp mode last nyt, iba talaga pag naka sport sharp, lahat ng reaction mas mabilis, the gas pedal, the engine rpm, the turbo. yun nga lng, mas laklak sa gas i think hehe. was able to run up to 180kph after skyway toll gate (para walang huli), car is stable, smooth ang manibela at gulong even at that speed, my only worries are the brakes, baka mapudpod agad at that speed

you should try it out too sometime sir 8BRZWRX, the sport sharp mode

I will post pics later of the fuel consumption. Only 55km ODO ng kotse ko. Hehe.

As for the DRL you have to switch the parking lights on... I think one click turn of the left light stalk.

I agree sport # is better than the other modes. Though I still wish it had the kick of the previous Gen forester turbo ( I sold mine before ). But all in all a better car than the previous gen and imho a better choice than crv or rav4 if you are looking at the top variants.

I'm becoming a subaru fanboi hahahaha oh no.

That's what the computer said. But brand new pa siya . I'm estimating maybe 6km / liter by end of the week.
