Medyo iba style ng Subaru Alabang because it's an MI franchise, unlike GH and BGC, which are directly MI. Although I can't say either if they prioritize those getting in-house insurance. I'm from Alabang pero sa BGC pa rin kami napabili recently ng XV. Not too much, pero mas malaki inoffer na discount at the time.

Be mindful of which salesperson you deal with. Some of them play favorites & politics even if you have sourced two cars from them. We ended up going to another branch for the 4th car because of pettiness of wanting us to wait for the 3rd car.

Ideally sana if a car is being looked for in one branch the other branch should be big enough to divert the car to them. What ends up happening is that customers wait for promises.

I would be driving a STI today if the sales person wasnt so damn petty. Ok rin I guess. Less demanding in RON and fuel consumption and WRX.

I'm not sure if it's worth losing a sale over. Like I'm now rooting for Greenhills to offer me the car first so I can get it from them. Posting it here in the forums probably has an effect on other potential buyers to skip Alabang as well, and deal with either Greenhills or BGC. Same goes to word of mouth, where I would not recommend them, and for potential future cars to be bought. It's just bad business practice, and in this age where customer is king, I'm amazed that dealers can still get away with these tactics.

*8BRZWRZ I agree sir, asking the customer to wait is fine, but keeping their hopes up in giving a fake timetable, and then kept on delaying them is wrong. Prioritizing others who reserved later but is willing to go in house as well. Your intention pala sir was to get the STi that must be one very pretty agent

Not sure if this applies here as well, but for current owners, you may want to take note that a recall for the carpet floor mats are being recalled for safety reasons:

4/25- the Forester floor mats are now an official recall.
Due to improper material used in the backing on the carpeted floor mats included with all models, the mats can curl when exposed to heat, possibly interfering with the gas, brake or clutch pedals. This affects all 2014 Foresters sold before 4/22/13. Owners will be notified. Replacement mats will be provided when available starting May 2013. Rubber mats are now available for purchase from Subaru dealers. Recall #WQH-44

I got my Forester from MI BGC and I can vouch for them that they don't prioritize buyers getting in-house insurance. Actually, they did not offer in-house insurance until I asked about it a day before I came to pick up the unit.

When we made inquiries in early 2008 we were told the STI would come out late 2008. But upon purchase a few weeks later the STI came out.

I've learned to accept it as the fuel required is 95, consumption is good enough for use as a daily commute, ride quality is softer and it does not draw as much attention as the STI.

As for the 4th car ideally MI would hold onto the cars until the sales invoice has been issued. When this has been done MI should deliver the car to the branch that made the invoice. What is happening here is that one branch has the car and no demand while the other branch has high demand and no car.

Customer waits because branches are looking out for themselves rather than making a speedy sale with little fuss.

Ayun... I ended up waiting an extra month. But the wait will soon be over hopefully within the week.

BTW... per Subaru document the Forester is a 2013 model. This should also reflect in the LTO document as well.

    la lang... just nitpicking.

As for Alabang branch a friend offered to help if things at the branch went awry but I rather than not bother my friend over my car troubles.

To be fair with Alabang they're trying to make a living like any of us.

From what I understand sir they have set allocations for branches, so whether the branch sells or runs out of the allotted number is already their problem. Ideally, I agree with you that they should give it to whichever branch needs it. I believe that's how they do it in the US, where cars are driven hundreds of miles from another dealer to reach a different city for a new buyer.

I made the mistake of trusting the Alabang sales agent, who told me that their queue is shorter, and that many customers usually switch from other branches to their branch because of this. I placed my reservation with them and left it at that. About 1-2 weeks later I called Greenhills and found out that they have a reserved white pearl last unit that they are just confirming with the customer if he will indeed get it. This made me realize that if I had gone to Greenhills earlier I would have already gotten my car. And I agree that Alabang is just making a living, but I personally think those tactics are just not worth losing a sale or two over. In the end, if they do it the fair way, they get more customers

And yes, it's really a 2014 model, but I'm not sure if they do that here, advancing the year model on the LTO document, I believe it has always been the year that you bought it?

Sir may I know when you reserved your unit? Are they telling you stock will arrive this week? Thanks.

I was able to get the XT in days as the color wasnt as popular as white.

    Me dating talaga yung puti.

The excessively long waiting period is for another car that I hope to get by next week.

BTW what do you guys think about the Subaru XV?

I haven't done a lot of reading on the XV, but personally I think it's a good car, especially if mostly for city driving lang ang objective mo. It's smaller than the forester, so mas cramped, but still has the Subaru driveability and has a number of features din. Has almost the same interior but I think a better exterior than the Forester. I thought mahaba din pila ng XV, hindi na ba ngayon?

XV supply has caught up to the demand, I think. When we bought one last March, we didn't need to wait. Forester na ang may pila.

Anyway, you can't go wrong either way. Both vehicles pretty much have the same engine, transmission, and nearly the same interior. Medyo mas malaki lang ang Forester, and this is most evident in how the Forester's rear seats can be reclined but the XV's can't. On the other hand, the XV is slightly more fuel efficient (and prettier).

I see! I am planning to use it in Visayas-Mindanao. I would've stuck with the WRX but it would grind the buttom of the car if the tides will not cooperate with you.

Island hopping, More fun in the Philippines.

What I like about Subarus is that it has performance out the box and a driver's car. It is a engineering-driven company even if conservative ang auto design and medyo dated ang interiors.

It has had stellar reviews and highly ranked for the past decade in other countries. They compete with Toyota/Honda for 1st/2nd/3rd in surveys. What is more kokonte lang meron which is counterproductive if you want cheap parts but you stand out without having to shell out more $$$. Kasi if you want to "stand out" you'd need to spend an extra million or two to get an entry BMW/Audi/MBenz.

My apologies but I did not pursue learning how to use the "memory height". My situation does not require it kasi. From what I understand the memory height are for people with very tight living spaces. So it prevents the trunk from colliding with a wall for example.

As for the auto up and down just click once the trunk's button so long as the wireless key is with you and if you're at the driver seat, set your drive to Park and click once also the trunk button by the steering wheel. Do not depress for a long time. Hassle lang sa mga malls that require security check. Security assume it's a manual trunk.

The color I wanted sana was either the orange or apple green.

If anyone is looking I am selling a pearl white 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX with less than 38,000km. Never modified, never raced. Travel within NCR 90% of the time and up to Clark 10%. Never went through floods. PM for pricing.

Wala pa sa atin yang green. Exclusive to the hybrid pa lang ata yan, which we probably won't be getting. The orange is exclusive to the premium model, which costs 1.47M

According to the paint chart that I was given wala na yung orange and MI replaced it with two rather less striking colors.

AS for the green I was hoping to get the hybrid sana if it fits into my timetable kaso I do not think it will arrive before July.

I've driven a Prius in the US and OK siya.
